Hamas doesn't care. This conflagration is a feature, not a bug. As you note, they had no interest in building a society.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Arab world continues to whip up like a hornet's nest, which might be the actual goal of whatever lunatic who was "in charge" of Hamas that particular week wanted to have happen.

Gaza was probably closer to Anarchy than being governed by Hamas. Shocking that anything works.

If Netanyahu flattened Gaza like a pancake and covered it with Kibbutzes and Synagogues, it solves nothing.

I read Dennis Ross’ book. Peace agreements have always massively favored Israel. Having said that, Arafat should have taken the deal. It was as good as they were ever going to get.
