PU shot 47% from 3, outrebounded us by 15, started the game up 20-4, and managed to hang onto a 3 pt lead with 13 sec to go on their home floor.

Both teams shot well. Domask and Guerrier and Hawkins all produced at high level and Goode had what is hopefully a breakout game as a starter.

Edey only playing 23 minutes and five shots was a weird anomaly but so was Renn going off.
We got creamed on the boards which was also odd.

I think other teams will take note and also give Rodgers the Chet Frazier treatment and negate the Hawkins stretch 5 sets. We will need to prep for that and surprised other teams have not done that already.

We are a solid very competitive team.
Guerrier and Domask have stepped up beyond what anyone could have hoped for. A couple weeks ago we were lamenting we did not have a second scoring option to go with TSj.

We now have three scoring options and maybe a 4th.

Maybe been spending too much time practicing free shots.

True. Never understood how a scholarship college basketball player can’t shoot a basketball. I mean I know it happens but he won’t even take a jump shot. He’s a 6’ 6” guard/forward and can’t shoot a basketball while on a scholarship at a major college university. Odd…

He only played 13 minutes. They couldn't use the isolation plays for Domask and others  if Edey was playing a one man zone clogging the paint and ignoring Rodgers and it allowed them to put a quicker guy on Hawkins.
Harmon played 24 and DGL 9.

Rodgers is shooting 68% on FTs which is a big improvement. If he can make a 15 footer then he can start taking midrange jumpers and the 3 point line is only 22 feet.
He will have to start shooting at some point.

Would have been nice if we played better an additional 20 minutes, oh well on to the next one.  A lot of things to like about this team!

He's not a shooting guard.  :D

we have 4 other guys in the starting lineup that should be shooting 3's over Rodgers so that's nice.  Wish DGL was more ready to go.  Rodgers does bring some matchup problems against lesser teams, and some stellar rebounding for a guard, but if he can drive and dish and booty ball inside, that's useful too.  Tough against a team that rakes you hard on every drive like Purdue does though. Good to see his free throw shooting has improved dramatically.

All true, but the twist Purdue used to have Edey guard him served multple purposes in addition to the one man zone to also negate the Hawkins matchup pulling the other team's 5 out.
Will be interesting to see how teams play us with Rodgers in moving forward.

he tried a runner in the center of the lane early and just missed it, not sure why he didn't try another one, something for him to practice in practice I guess lol

Other teams could try the Purdue strategy on Ty but then again those other teams in the conference won't have a 7'4 NPOY mammoth guarding the paint.

We missed a lot early vs Edey. It's not as tho we were missing shots tho, Edey altered every one because of his height.

We had a couple bunnies in the lane we short armed and Edey wasn’t contesting. It’s like they were scared of the thought of him contesting the shots.

Maybe been spending too much time practicing free shots.

Heard he’s been to a few Bulls games.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.
