I’ve explained it pretty clearly, and not run from anything. I said you could make a case either way. I didn’t take a strong stand because I knew George wasn’t firing him. That seemed like a slam dunk. I chose not to get steamed up over it because he wasn’t going anywhere after the “improvement” of 2023 and having 3 years left on his deal.

I said if they were planning on changing quarterbacks the smart thing to do was fire him. If they had brought back Fields, you might as well provide the continuity and bring back Eberflus. That’s exactly what I said.
