Laydown noted.

Your whole premise is idiotic. if they had a real QB they would have been in the playoff hunt and would not have traded guys from their front 7 away. I understand you cannot comprehend this generally, and given your devotion to the JF cult

In other news, saw the Titans requested a interview for Matt Nagy. Da fuck?

If he gets the job maybe he'll want to trade for JFC! Check that, even he thought Fields sucked and had to be pressured to play him.

Mike Mulligan made a great point this morning. Matt Nagy calling plays for Derrick Henry would probably “go great.” Lol
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

Deep thoughts.
I am a former 5-star general. Or maybe it was 4-star.
Nichi claims a guard with a 1.3 assist-to-TO ratio is a good passer.

Only a buffoon thinks Shanahan wouldn’t trade Purdy for Justin Fields.

Only a buffoon would think a QB that can’t pass the ball, and takes a million sacks because he can’t read a defense quick enough to make a decision, is a better QB than a guy that can do both of those things.

Tom Brady is a great QB bc he makes quick decisions and puts the ball where it needs to go.  That is essentially what QB’ing is.

Do you honestly believe Fields would put up better stats than Purdy has in the 49’ers offense?

Purdy has played nearly 7 full games and compare his stats vs the entire league.

67% completion (5th in NFL)
111 passer rating (1st in NFL)
65.3 QBR (5th in NFL)

No, the 49ers would not trade away a rookie QB that has performed as a top 5 Qb in his 7 games, for a 2nd year QB that has performed as a bottom 8 Qb during his career.

Stats don’t lie.

I feel like if Purdy wins the Super Bowl you’ll still think Fields is better despite there being no statistical basis for it.

Lol

I’m a big Fields supporter, but I wouldn’t trade Purdy for him either. If I did make the trade for the 49ers I’d ask for more than just straight up.

It goes a long way to show you can read defenses, make quick decisions, and process information. That’s like 80% of the game for QB’s. Tons of prospects have the talent, but that doesn’t mean shit when playing in the NFL at the highest level. College and HS you get away with that based on talent. NFL, no.

I don’t really know why that’s funny. Honestly. I’m by no means saying that Purdy will be better in the future than Fields either. That’s a whole different discussion. For the 49ers they need that passing production and Fields would not give them that currently.

It was mostly this second line that made me LOL. I can only interpret it as you’d make the Bears give you more than Fields? Either way, still absurd. The Bears wouldn’t be dumb enough to make that trade.

Secondly, I think it’s pretty ridiculous to think Fields wouldn’t be a better passer with a great offensive line (best LT in football), several elite catch and run options, a quarterback friendly scheme and a coach who’s recognized as a top 5 coach in the league; and specializes in offense and getting a lot of out the quarterback position. The Niners have an embarrassment of riches. What the Bears have doesn’t even come close. Deebo Samuel alone would make Justin Fields better. Even without the All World LT, TE, RB, and widely praised and copied scheme.

Again, taking quarterback out of it, there isn’t a single guy with the exception of Tevin Jenkins who would start on the 49ers.

Matt Bowen gave some really great analysis on the upcoming playoff games. Has interesting things to say about Brock Purdy and the 49ers.

And? When you take the Lkdog approach of throwing out meaningless generalizations, I'm not rushing to listen to a podcast.

Ok, I’ll bite. Mentions how SF has 5 guys with “catch and run ability” who line up all over the place. Mentions the stress that puts on a defense. Mentions how Shanahan does a great job of creating space for these players. Shanahan will direct you to where the ball should go. Great scheme.

Gives some credit to Purdy that he’s “clearly coachable.” IIRC mentions his mobility too. Says he’s looking forward to the SF/Dallas matchup. Says Dallas does things he hasn’t seen before. Mentions he’s played against soft defenses.
