I just woke up from a dream, dare I say a nightmare: I was at an Illini tailgate after the 2d home game of the upcoming  season and the Illini had lost, again, and were now 0-2 on the season. I was ranting and raving after the game as I can do here.

Flash forward to the postgame tailgate for third home game of the season, where the Illini lost again, and were now o'fer on the season. I was not ranting and raving. People who had been near the tailgate from the preceding game, including a guy wearing a Philly Eagles jersey, commented that I was not ranting and raving as I was after game 2. A neighbor friend, who would not be at an Illini game, long tossed me a Budweiser (which did NOT blow up in my face - and it has been a long time since I consumed a Buderiser). I had become resigned to the fact that Illini football had sucked again.

Maybe DoctorintheFlat can decipher this dream.

Of course I can. It comes from years of being an Illini fan (which has made you insecure, and believe that you don’t deserve nice things). Tack on the Mitchell Trubisky post traumatic stress disorder and that means serious insecurity issues which will require extensive counseling.

Also, deep down, you’re a Cub fan, and a Bud Man.

One would think that DoctorintheFlat might have something to add to this discussion.

You rang for a house call?

Add Ekeler, sign a veteran possession/red zone guy like Thielen to complement these young guys. Draft Paris Johnson. That has me salivating (definitely not dreaming though).

Why even play Jefferson if you're not going to throw it to him

Just throw it deep, Vikings. It's not like the Bears will pressure you.

And yet again, you missed what the discussion was about viz a viz Fields and Allen.

Both run a lot. One runs even more often. He also doesn't call his own plays.

I understand that. What you fail to comprehend is why Getsy is calling those runs. For the 100th time, it is because JFC is not a QB who can actually pass at this point.

You say this 25x more often than you acknowledge the line can't block and the receivers are practice squad caliber. But hey, at least you're "fair."

Well from what I hear, you can’t disagree with “science,” so I guess it’s settled then!

You can disagree with scientific consensus as long as you have more scientific study to back your opinion up. Otherwise your evidence is personal and anecdotal. Not the strongest scientific footing.

We're ranked #309 in free throw shot percentage.
I know it's still too early to be "concerned" or hang a banner tho.

I was classmates with PAMan. He was in school pursuing a degree in free-throw shooting before he decided to pursue law instead.I continued to receive my PhD in passes into the flat. While he didn't ultimately get his degree in free-throws, he can diagnose a free-throw problem before it gets serious.

As someone with a PhD in passes in the flat, I can confidently say this was an imperfect, slightly behind the receiver pass into the flat. Not a well thrown ball, but catchable.
