I hate watching Edey play.

I was hoping he would shoot dice at Rivers Casino last week when he and several Purdue players stopped by before their flight out of O'Hare, but he didn't.

You ever watch PAC ball games? No one is there, even for pretty big games. I’d say fan/cultural apathy ranks pretty high on the list.

Then perhaps Illinois should be in the Pac 12. You know, birds of a feather. At least for football.

Perhaps their campaign mantra could be Dumb and Dumber 3 -- Insurrection, Insidious and Incontinent.

Bullshit. USC is THE pro football team in LA. There are more Walmart Trojans out there than Walmart Wolverines in the State of Michigan.

Only when USC is good.

DeRozan lost them the game with his terrible shot selection and shooting. He literally shoots the dumbest shots I’ve ever seen and at dumbass times. Frustrating as hell.

After having watched Illinois basketball the past few seasons, are you sure about the above comment?

My vote for Player of the Game for Kansas is UNC guard Caleb Love, who shot 5-24 from the field (1-8 from 3pt line) and had 4 turnovers. Shot selection is clearly not his forte and perhaps not even a consideration. He was fortunate that enough went in against Duke but he was way off in this game. Carolina shot an anemic 5-23 from the 3pt line, which was a big reason the Tarheels lost a game despite getting 24 offensive rebounds and hitting 18-22 FTs (+10 made).

Now it's time to focus on college football. Jayhawk fans, better set the alarm clock for November when hoops start up again.

Crazy Duke only had 4 turnovers for the entire game and still lost

Now do the Duke Free Shot numbers.

Poor FT shooting (12-20) hurt Duke, but the Blue Devils primarily lost the game by shooting only 5-22 from the 3pt line. North Carolina won despite having a mere 7 assists (on 27 made 2pt & 3pt FGs -- yikes) and only getting 13 minutes and 2 points from its bench. That's not going to cut it against Kansas, especially if Bacot isn't ready to go.

Bruh…do you even Illinois?

Lol, while I understand the rationale behind your response, from my perspective it's simply a case of addition by subtraction (losing OC Petersen & QB Peters = improvement).

Va pounded us last year.

Perhaps the script will be flipped in 2022. Former Clemson OC Tony Elliott took over in Charlottesville when Bronco Mendenhall resigned in December 2021 after 6 seasons. So UVA has a new HC/OC/DC and the game against Illinois will be Virginia's 1st road game of the season. Sound familiar? Hopefully the Illini will draw more than the 36k who witnessed last year's mauling at Scott Stadium. The Illini offense (minus OC Tony Petersen, QB Brandon Peters) should be better, if for no other reason than it can't possibly be as anemic as the 2021 edition.

Illinois has a bye week before hosting Tennessee Chattanooga (UTC), and another one before a road game at Nebraska. Nonconference games against Wyoming, Virginia and UTC should all be (on paper) winnable. Crossover conference games at Indiana, home against MSU, and at Michigan. Road games at Michigan and Northwestern to close out the regular season.

As poorly as Illinois has played (defensive rebounding, turnovers, dubious shot selection), the Illini are only down 4 at the half.

But the merrymen always tell us what a great head coach Underachiever is.

Bruce Weber is available.

Too soon?

That’s all they’re giving us. They’re daring Curbelo and Hawkins to beat us.

And Williams.
