Wearing orange helmets.
Fields still fucking sucks as a pocket passer. Great job in the offseason Bible Boy! Just allow him to run amuck and throw the ball long when he feels like it.
Getsy sucks ass.
No one hustles - SUCH IS EBERLOSE'S CULTURE THAT BELICHICK ALLEGEDLY PRAISED!
VSIN odds aggregation: opened Bear -1 o/u 44 Now: Tampa -2.5 to 3 o/u 41 to 41.5
Sorry, Tempo. But you had to know some of this was coming.....
-
Tampa 24
Bears 16
-
If Claypool is suiting up Sunday then it just proves Eberflus HITS principle to be an even bigger crock of shit than it already is.

Vegas probably saw JT O’Sullivan’s video...
Yes, if I was as constantly negative and bitching like you are, I’d have seen this coming.
-
You had them going like 13-4 and winning the SB.
-

Yes, if I was as constantly negative and bitching right about the Bear like you are, I’d have seen this coming.
Had to fix that for you!
-
You had them going like 13-4 and winning the SB.
Competent coaching staff and GM, with that schedule, should be in the playoffs.
-
Had to fix that for you!
Eberflus sucks. Poles sucks. McCaskeys suck. Fields sucks. Defense sucks. 13-4 Super Bowl.
Sounds like a perfectly reasonable person.
-

Wouldn’t go that far, one season removed from 3-14; but it should look quite a bit better than it did Sunday. I think thinking playoffs was not out of the picture, but I wouldn’t say “any competent staff could do it.” They should be in the realm of average. Average would have made for a much closer game Sunday.

Perhaps.

You predicted 10-7, in the playoffs, before the first game.
So, one season removed from 3-14 has nothing to do with it apparently.

Saying I’m “reasonably optimistic that 10-7 and playoffs is doable with this schedule” is a pretty far cry from 13-4/Super Bowl.
I also wasn’t the one talking about how the GM, Coach, and quarterback suck, yet predicting SB.
-
Appearing in a wild card game and winning the SB are not even close to the same thing.

I should not have bought the Fields' offseason workout and Belichick CULTURE hype....

Looks like the coaches weren’t the only ones falling for the hype machine.

It’s ok. Constantly railing about how everything around the Bears sucks, and predicting 13-4/Super Bowl Championship just shows what an incredibly well grounded person you are.
-
Looks like the coaches weren’t the only ones falling for the hype machine.
I was wrong (to believe in Fields, Getsy, Eberlose, Poles/Pace (same doofus at this point)).
-
If Claypool is suiting up Sunday then it just proves Eberflus HITS principle to be an even bigger crock of shit than it already is.
I wouldn’t go that far. They essentially gave up a 1st round pick for him, so he should get some rope if you want to salvage him. But I’d have zero problem sitting him the first couple series or pulling him at the first sign of loafing.
-

Ray Raynor would do the same thing.
-
Or maybe just flat out ask him 3 hours before game time if he plans on playing hard today. If his answer isn’t convincing, make him inactive.
-

Sounding like he is going to sit. CULTURE!
-
Ray Raynor would do the same thing.
My memory doesn’t go back quite that far. Sounds like a very reasonable dude.
-
Sounding like he is going to sit. CULTURE!
I’m ok with that. Probably unnecessary, but ok with it. Some people want to cut him though. I’m not there yet. If you see a couple more “efforts” out of him like that I’d trade him or cut him.
-
My memory doesn’t go back quite that far. Sounds like a very reasonable dude.
How do you not remember Ray Raynor?
-
I remember “him.” I can’t say remember much, if anything about him. Just that he was a Chicago television icon and had a kids show.
-
I certainly don’t remember his Bears takes.
-
I certainly don’t remember his Bears takes.
He loved the Bear and the Chicago Cardinal equally. Bring back the Cardinal!

Hate to say the 2nd game of the season is a must-win, but with KC on the road looming week 3, this is looking like a must have. Hard to envision this team having a big bounce back from 0-3.
-
Sept 17 may be the new Nov 9, but it may not be.

Could be though.

I'll just take competence in all areas over a victory, since none of the dopes on or running the team are going anywhere any time soon.

I’m actually struggling to find that objectionable.

Gordon to IR. Will miss at least 4 games. Too bad, he was one of the best players in camp according to reports.

If he showed up and did the drills he apparently would be one of the best players at County Club Camp Eberlose.

Trust Eberlose, he’d never mislead us to cover asses. kULtUrE.

DC Alan Williams will not make the trip to Tampa this week due to personal reasons. Flus to call defensive plays.

Is Davis making it or does he have personal reasons not to play or practice either?

The way he played last week, I kind of hope he doesn’t make it.

Well, one less incompetent coach being present may be a good thing.
James Carville today said to take the Bears and the points.
-
Feeling about as queasy going into a game as I’ve felt in a long time. Tampa can pressure and doesn’t mind blitzing. GB pressured effectively without blitzing. Ironically, this could be a week where the screen game is effective if they can line up correctly and block it.
Would be really nice to see them come out, play well and win. I don’t see this team bouncing back from 0-3 which would almost be a certainty going to KC week 3.
I’ll bet DJ sees at least 10 targets today. We’ll probably even see a couple dumbass end arounds because I could easily see the Bears over-correcting on this.
-
They’ll have to double Vita Vea because no one on that interior can block him.
-
Bring in Coach Prime to coach the Bear. He can also coach the Pale Hose while here.
-
D’Ontae Foreman inactive. Look for Roschon Johnson to get some work.
-
Ouch. Not ideal.

Not a fan of the orange unis
-
Another easy conversion on 3rd and Long. Nice play by evans to break up what might have verb a pick 6.
-
Bucs WR got away with a hold.
-
JFC 20 yard pickup on 3rd and 11. Atrocious.
-
Not the prettiest pass of all-time but big gained to DJ to start. Good play.
-
Hell yeah!
-
Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Get jiggy’
-
Not a fan of the orange unis
Love it and the orange helmets.
-
A lot of more that please. Fields looked like a different guy that drive. Was looking to throw it. About as good a full drive as he’s had in as long as I can remember. Keep it going! Get the ball back defense!
-
Where’s the gang?
-
Not a fan of the orange unis
They should wear them every week if they are going to have drives like that.
-

Yes very good drive all around.
-
Secondary is dropping like flies. Was just about to type we need some pass rush when Yannick let him get away.
-
Should have been a 10 yard sack.
-
Looks like Brisker and EJ are done. At least for the half.
-
Extend Eberlose!
-
Blocked!
-
Man, a 35-10 route would be good for the soul.
-
Extend Eberlose!
Lock him up!?
-
Ugh end around
-
Let the clown show begin. Wright and Kmet clown themselves then Getsy calls that stupid play for Jones.
-
Throw the ball dude
-
C’mon Justin, fucking throw it away if nothing else.
-
Throw the fucking ball Fields!!!!! Players wide the fuck open!!!
-
Get rid of the ball.
-
Nice uncalled push off by Evans.
-
Dumb. Just fucking dumb. 3rd and 9 and that’s what we do?! Dumb
-
Jesus. Need to give the defense a break. Horrible drive. Should have started with 3 runs.
-
We need the defense to turn them over.
-
Why don't you go back to doing, I don't know, what worked on the first drive?
-
We could probably use a Jalen Carter right about now.
-
Thank god we got a stand. Now run the ball 3x to start next drive.
-
Claypool sighting…
-
Really like the Johnson pick…
-
Really like the Johnson pick…
I picked him up in dynasty
-
Throw the fucking ball, man. Damn
-
Moore wide open
-
Again he was and he checked down a made a horrible throw to the RB.
-
Throw the BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
You're not at OSU anymore. You don't have all fucking day back there.
-
It’s Fields, not the fucking OC Getsy! How do you not see that Tempo?!
-
Need a little more Fields running.
-
Need a little more Fields running.
Passing preferably…
-
Moore wide open
Easy 7-8 yard gain at the least. Have to take those.
-
He’s gun shy and can’t process quick enough. Terrible combination for a QB.
-
Thank god Santos has a leg on him.
-
Tampa has nearly 300 yards of offense and miraculously the score is only 13-10 at half.
-
Some good, some bad there.
Eberlose is not the answer on D. Need to get pressure if you don't have any D Backs left, don't you?
-

65 of it was on an uncalled penalty.

We have no pass rush. Gonna be a struggle to be adequate this year.
-
First drive was great. Downhill from there. Justin has to let it rip like he did on the first drive. Don’t stand there. If you don’t see it take off. But please don’t stand there.
-
65 of it was on an uncalled penalty.
That's still not great.
-
Let's run straight at Vea. Genius plan!
-
Jesus. Stop with the self-inflicted wounds.
-
Braxton Jones blows
-

It seem like he got lost again after the scripted first drive?
Can't blame Fields for the line failing to pass block.
-
I’ve had chucked it deep on that 3rd and 23. Maybe you get a penalty.
Pass pro breaking down.
-
Need to start rolling Justin out and giving him the option to run.
-
Need to use Justin’s legs for the weapon they are. 6 rushing yards from him won’t win us the game. Guaranteed loss if he doesn’t break a couple big gains.
-
Braxton Jones blows
The best thing about him last year is you didn’t notice him. CNt say that this year.
-
We desperately need a turnover to change momentum. No excuse for lining up in neutral zone. FFS
-
Nice tackle 22
-
Worst attempted tackle I’ve probably ever seen.
-
We have no bone bruisers on defense.
-
We have no bone bruisers on defense.
Eddie Jackson? Jaylon?
-
I thought this defense was about turnovers…
-
Eddie Jackson? Jaylon?
Lol
-
Mayfield looking like Mahomes out here.
I shudder to think what the actual Mahomes will look like against the Bears next week.
-
This defense is soft. The only guy I’ve seen hit hard was Mayfield as he was stepping out of bounds.
-
Jaylon!
-
D'oh
-
Jesus….coulda used that.
-
I thought Eberflus was a defensive guy.
-
Well, fuck…Baker heaves up a Hail Mary to an open Mike Evans. Terrible coverage.
-
Your guy Mike Evan's going to use this game film to get paid, Tempo
-
I thought Eberflus was a defensive guy.
They are missing half of their secondary and it shows.
-
They are missing half of their secondary and it shows.
Does that really matter? They give up over 30 points every game....
-
There is your designed run
-
Great run by Herbert.
-
He's trying to be in a spot to get the first down, Darryl.
-
Could tell that pass had no chance from the start.
-
Not blaming Claypool for that one. That ball had no shot.
-
Why are 3 defenders in the same spot?
-
#TankforCaleb?
-
Two guys running the same fucking route. What a joke. $50 that’s on Kmet
-
#TankforCaleb?
Tank for offensive and defensive lineman? And general competence?
-
Turnover please.
-
Wow, clean shot at Baker and missed him. FML
-
If he whacks him the Bears are maybe celebrating in the end zone.
-
#TankforCaleb?
It appears to be happening organically
-
We’ll learn a little bit about the competitive toughness of this team this drive IMO.
-
I don’t see any creativity in Getsy’s play-calling. At all.
-
Stop. Shooting. Self. In. Foot.
-
Big play to DJ there. A duck, a bit late, but a 1st down.
-
I don’t see any creativity in Getsy’s play-calling. At all.
When you can't block, how much can you do?
-
When you can't block, how much can you do?
True.
-
Why no roll outs?
-
Claypool!
-
Fuck yeah! Dart to Claypool!
-
First TD as a Bear
-
Fields 6/6 92 yards and TD. The kid can do it. He just needs some consistency around him and we’ll see it.
-

-
I ken haz comeback wyn?
-
It’s Baker Mayfield guys, turn him over.
-
Please…let’s get the ball back.
-
If you’re religious, start praying.
-
What is Taylor doing?
-
Why would you do that?
-
Is he new to special teams?
-
Claypool...
-
Fuck!
-
You have to be kidding me with that shit
-
😂
-
JFC. Someone needs to be thrown under the bus for this.
-
Luke Gutless. Falling in love with the screen game.
-
Bears have success pushing the ball down field last drive.
Getsy: Let's forget all that and run some screens backed up inside our own 10.
Leave this idiot in Tampa.
-
Luke Gutless. Falling in love with the screen game.
You don’t get it. Did you just not see this game? Did you just not see him check down to the RB right there before the 2 min warning?! He WON’T throw the fucking ball downfield!!! He hangs on to the ball and won’t throw the damn thing!!!!
-
And set up by Claypool blunder. The usual suspects.
-
Threw that one in a crowd. 4 guys around the ball. While Claypool was open, wonder if others were more open.
-
About time to start tanking again
-
Wrong thread PMan…
-

LOL. Hope the Illini recruit some free shot shooters

About time to start tanking again
Look who shows up Justin in time for the bus toss.

Fields hasn't been good enough but Getsy's screen game fetish isn't helping matters.
-
Too many mistakes all around. It creates an environment where Fields has to be perfect. We know he isn’t.
-
If Claypool doesn’t draw that penalty I like our chances. That was a killer.
-
As bad as that was half the day, thought I saw some growth. Need to clean up the mistakes.
-
I wish Britbox would bring back Fawlty Towers.
-

C'mon, he does not have to be perfect. He has to throw the ball quicker.
-

Never got into Fawlty Towers. Should I?
-

They need to stop trying to make him a pure pocket passer.
-
I want Fields to be the guy, I really do, but we're pushing "he is what he is" territory in year 3.
-
As bad as that was half the day, thought I saw some growth. Need to clean up the mistakes.
Unfortunately Tampa went up and down the field on the Bear defense.
-
C'mon, he does not have to be perfect. He has to throw the ball quicker.
He has to be near perfect to overcome everything around him. He’s not at that level which is obvious.
I’ve been on board and not giving up, but it’s almost as if a new GM, developing HC, developing OC, developing a quarterback, developing a 5th round LT, developing a rookie RT, and nowhere near enough quality lineman on either side has a chance to go awry.
-
We were hopeful the free agents would help, but they have no been impactful players as of yet. Hopefully we’re looking at an early days Cowboys/Jimmy Johnson situation here. Poles probably was too truthful when he said “we’re 70% of the way there.” That’s not nearly far enough.
-

To summarize, they tanked last year for draft picks, got rid of the dead cap space, traded guys, signed free agents, and they are just as bad as they were last year.

Not as bad. But not as good as we were hoping. Still a lot of young, new pieces. Winning this year probably wasn’t realistic in retrospect. They just aren’t good enough upfront or experienced enough in the important positions. And that means coaching too. I know Fields had some bad plays today. Raise your hand if you think Getsy was good.
-
Never got into Fawlty Towers. Should I?
If you liked All in the Family and Monty Python, you might like it. Two flawed characters cast in a satirical humorous light so you laugh instead of getting angry and hating them.
It's also subtly offensive, one episode blatantly so.

How are they not as bad as last year? They just lost to teams helmed by Jordan Love and Baker Mayfield, and gave up a shit load of yards in the process, and the offense looks as shitty as it did last year before the bye?
-

Kinda like the white Sox lol

Because they’re not?

Because they’re not?
But, they actually are.
Poles sucks. Remember when he said the rebuild was 75 to 80% done? It is not that far along.

Too early to say. They are heavily relying on 1st and 2nd year players. I know patience isn’t your thing, but as they say, can’t really grade a draft until after 3 seasons. This team will also be adding a lot next year. And hopefully the new FAs will look like better investments.
