Personally, I thought it might have been the best 30 seconds from any speech he's given in years. Hate to say this about another human being, but the dude is garbage anyway. I'm not an ageist but we have too many 80 year olds in positions of huge influence.

The Squad -- mastering the art of performative resistance.

It’s one thing to tweet out anti-establishment rhetoric, but quite another to get stuff done.  The Squad peaked in 2020, and their influence has waned, especially after they backed off Medicare for All and fell in line to support the healthcare industry.  They are a joke among many progressives nationwide.  The only place their “aspirational messaging” gets any serious play is on Fox News, where they serve as a reliable punching bag.

If Biden were not president, you do not think they would act differently? They seemingly have tried to keep a low profile with him in office. For good reason. Granted, I do not believe that Jayapal is a formal member of The Squad, but she seems to make a dumbass comment about once a month.

You can send a thank you note to Nancy Pelosi, not Joe Biden, for writing the playbook on how to manage AOC and The Squad. Hakeem Jeffries and other Democrats are following her playbook but are being more diplomatic about it.

Biden has looked foolish on more than a few occasions. He's never stood there silent for 30 seconds and had to be pulled away while giving a speech. I am not a big Biden apologist, so I think you may be barking up the wrong tree here.

Dipwits like Chris Christie will waffle around - they say that Donald Trump is satan incarnate but then say something like "I can't vote for Joe Biden".

Last election, it came down to Dianne Feinstein and Kevin DeLeon. DeLeon is a complete piece of hot garbage. I still voted for DeLeon because Feinstein was already looking way too old for the gig. In retrospect I think I made a mistake - because DeLeon might have been under the radar enough for us to have a useless incumbent for decades, and Feinstein at worst is gone next December.

This is the reality of choices we have to make. If you make a 3rd party vote because you hate both choices, you're wasting your vote, you have to make the best of the bad choice.  In my case, I very well may have made the wrong choice, but I made a choice. In the case of Trump v Biden, Biden was the clearly correct choice, if for no other reason than he has hired a reasonable staff, not a bunch of people who are either headed to jail or avoiding jail by testifying against the people who are headed to jail.

Unless you want to take it to the Nth level thinking and say "If we had just sucked it up and elected Trump, Jan 6 would have never happened and that would have been better"

Dems can't afford for Feinstein to retire right now.  The GOP will never agree to replacing her on Judiciary.

That is the situation. It's a sad one, but there it is.
