Alex, what are… My HIV test results?!

This thread really took off.

This thread really took off.
After my initial post I would’ve posted more, but have been undergoing treatments…
Also staying clear of other posters and wearing my mask so I don’t infect other posters on here who interact with me. I heard that even if doing it will save 1 person on here it’s worth it. I know it’s not 100% effective but it’s worth a shot.
-
Yep. Worth a shot…
-
You should all go fuck yourselves

Guess I was naive to think this thread would take.

Looking forward to the Justin Fields is Working as Hard in the Offseason as Jalen Hurts stories. Hopefully Fields will be able to squat 600 lbs too.
-
It's going to be pretty rough for PAMan when he has to STFU about Fields.

Agreed. If it’s only 550 no chance for him to be good.
-
It's going to be pretty rough for PAMan when he has to STFU about Fields.
It’s my main reason for sticking around. Maybe he’ll be right, but I don’t think he is.
-
Good to see you, Spark!
-
Hilarious. Yeah, I love the "Hurts had a great year and a great Super Bowl so that means that Fields is going to be great!" stuff.
Hurts is known for his work ethic, especially after getting benched at Alabama. I have said Fields can be successful if he works hard in the offseason because he has a ton of work to do. Hopefully Fields is not listening to The Twitter people and just sitting on the beach or it will be another long year for the Bear next year.
-

I hope I am wrong. But that is dependent on Fields working as hard as Hurts did to make himself a passer.

I’ve never ever heard anything but praise when it comes to Fields’ work ethic. I’m fairly sure if he doesn’t succeed it won’t be because he didn’t work at it hard enough.
-
And no one has said “Hurts is great so Fields will be, too.” It’s just a logical comp of a reasonably possible outcome.
-
I hope I am wrong. But that is dependent on Fields working as hard as Hurts did to make himself a passer.
Again. Fields’ work ethic has never been questioned.
-
Yesterday was a blissfully beautiful day in NE Illinois.
-
And I think the tape shows Fields is probably already a better passer than Hurts. Needs to hit the layups more consistently, though. Fields was the best rated passer in the PFF era in college. I don’t think that was fluky. That said, he still has improvements to make to the pro game. As does every young QB.

Time will tell.

I'm more interested in how Fields played the second half of the season than anything about another team. The Bears had a nightmare roster overall but Fields was electric. If you don't see the potential there you're not paying much attention IMO.

Don't agree with this either. He needs to get much, much better as a passer. Part of it is scheme, and you don't want to take away his legs, but he needs to be throwing for more than 150 yards a game.

He has the physical skills to be a good passer. He needs to throw on the break instead of when the guy is wide open. An example of this was Hurt's long pass in the end zone. He threw that ball as the guy was just to break left between the two defenders.

Yep. And he learned to do that at Oklahoma. Except for the two year window after that where he wasn’t considered a good passing NFL quarterback. Until he was.

No major qualms here. In no way am I saying he’s fully developed. But I think the ingredients are there. You don’t get to be the best passer (according to PFF) in a 10 year window in college without some semblance of passing ability.
-

LOL. Remember the part about the "head start" where he knew he needed to work on passing? Of course not.
We all now know that Fields needs to do a lot of work on passing (despite what he did at OSU throwing to wide open guys). He's behind.
-

Says the guy who blames the roster for Fields being one of the worst passers in the NFL....uh maybe the roster (and crap B1G opposition) was one of the reasons he looked really good at OSU? We shall see.
-

Yes. Because Fields wasn’t working on his passing…what a lazy sumbitch.

He may have been working on it but it sure looks like he did not learn much over the past 2 years as a pro.

It’s no small part of it. Would Justin be All-Pro with Philly? Don’t know. I’m sure he’d better, though. Probably even pretty good.
-

I would hope so. Imagine if Mahomes was on Philly?
-

Except for that time in the 2nd half of the season where he was clearly better (then had one really poor game against Detroit, probably playing injured).
Nagy clearly mishandled Fields. The Bears should sue him for malpractice.

Would probably look a lot like it does with the Chiefs.

He was "better" because they stopped trying to run a prototypical NFL offense and decided to let him run amuck. Like Spark said, he has to be able to pass for more than 150 yards.
-

One would think the score would have been far different Sunday if the QBs switched sides.
-

Except for that 11 game stretch where he was clearly much better for about 9 of them and was about league average in yards per attempt (so better than terrible).

-
And if you take out the first few games, I bet he’s above league average for yards per attempt.
-
That's an 11 game stretch where he threw for 200 yards twice. I'm not sure it makes your point.

And not to mention absolutely otherworldly as a running threat.

LOL

Yards per attempt? Are you also blaming the failure to pass MORE (entirely) on Fields?
-
The Bears were abnormally low in passing attempts and Fields was about league average in YPA. Of course he had low passing yard totals.

How did this become yet another Fields thread?
Who was the best CF ever? Mays or Mantle?

It started here, Ray.

Want to say Mantle, but the answer is Mays.

Was being positive. You turned it negative.
-
Simeon Rice says the Bears “need to get Justin Fields some help. Probably better passer than Hurts.” Also, Simeon loves him some Simeon. Fast forward to just past 7:00 mark if you want to skip the part where he fluffs himself.

The specific point was “needs to get Fields help.” Mostly in the way of offensive linemen and receivers. But yes, they need a lot of help all over the place.
-

So are we just going to ignore the fact that the Bears passed the ball at an astonishingly low rate, and/or pretend Fields was the only reason they didn’t throw more?

We went through this ad nauseum already. If you cannot remember the discussion, that is on you.

Yes, I gave you the reasons. And as I recall, your response was as stupid as every other Justin Fields take you have. I was re-opening this largely for Spark. And to see what your response would be. *Fields can’t pass…*
-
The bottom line is it’s hard to throw for yardage when you’re throwing the ball at a historically low rate for the modern era. There were a large number of perfectly explainable reasons for that.

Everyone, except for you, recalls why they changed the offense from a big boy, NFL offense to a Techmo Bowl offense.

It is impressive how you do such a great job sticking your head up your own ass. That is a positive.

So refresh my memory, why did the Bears not pass so much? And it’s not like they were passing before the offensive change, so that wasn’t it.
-
The first 5 games were actually his lowest pass attempt games of the season.

Gaetz sex trafficking charges announced.
There aren't any.
"Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., has been told by the Department of Justice that he will not be charged after they concluded their investigation into possible sex trafficking crimes. NBC's Julia Ainsley reports."

It's really funny seeing you guys pick through the weeds of the Bears failings instead of just using Occam's Razor - "The ownership sucks"

Like him or not, he’s part of “The Club,” just like Donald. Therefore they’ll never do anything to him.
-
I think I read somewhere that the Feds came to the conclusion that Gaetz was not going to get convicted as his partner in slime, Joel Greenburg, was just too much of a lying scumbag to be believed.
Gaetz is still a creep.

Just the kind of guy you want your daughter to bring home.

There is also the spectacular incompetence of Merrick Garland to consider. Guy would have done less damage on the Supreme Court.

I don’t see the issue. I thought it was pretty funny and a good joke. I guess this weak ass culture found it offensive.

The humor police strike again. I am not sure this was an example of misogyny. It might actually be sexist.
Besides, how can there be hatred of something we can't even define?

It’s a blurry line. I can still perfectly understand why women would be insulted by it.

I'll have to say this. I was pretty worried that QAnon up there in Sparks was gonna run out of water, doesn't look like that's an immediate concern. Another 4 inches of new at the Lake so far today.

Correct on both accounts.
The Russkis were behind the leak.

Tritium is a mildly radioactive form of hydrogen that occurs naturally and is also a byproduct of nuclear power plants. At these low levels it would have no affect on fish or drinking water at all.
