I’ve listened to most of the locals and here’s what I think:
Lon Tay- is terrible. He was born with a great broadcasting voice and says nothing at all which is probably why he’s never been to any bigger markets. This guy should be hosting a game show instead of a sports show. A hackey cornball.
Derek Piper- I like Piper. He understands basketball and is very reasonable. When he’s not making recruiting predictions, he’s good at analyzing the game.
Jeremy Werner- sucks. Just a homer. Hardly ever breaks anything. Nothing but excuses.
Mike LaTulip- nobody uses more words to say nothing than him. A bore, too wordy.
Mike Carpenter- he’s good. The fact he got kicked off the radio station for being too negative is a guy I can relate too. I think him and Piper are the best overall when it comes to discussing Illini sports.
IlliniGuys- Cagley, Sturdy, Prince the worst podcast I’ve ever heard. Homers, poor broadcasting voices, awful.
Illiniboard (Robert) - terrible and an embarrassment that this clown has a press pass.
J Leman- I like J. Probably has the best combo of personality, charisma and football acumen. He’s at least entertaining.

What about Robb McColley…

I don’t think Robb has a podcast or is on the radio regular

Lon Tay knows his limitations and generally works within them.
In the radio pre-game, LaTulip has more to offer than the usuals who ramble about the same 4-5 topics all the time.
I don't think Jeremy Werner sucks, but he caught some breaks along the way and then made adjustments to fit his lifestyle.
J. Leman is almost too energetic. I get exhausted listening to him.
I don't have time for podcasts. (Sorry, Temp0.)

You can find him in a dumpster fairly regularly though.

I don't see any actual grades.

Robert from the illiniboard is terrible.

I like Loren Tate. Too bad he died 10 years ago.
