I’m out on the White Sox in general. I’ve been out since around my birthday in late June. This team was clearly going nowhere, and they are squandering what for a brief period was a very exciting roster. Despite obvious needs, they are apparently going to go the band aid route and just hope things go better next year. The only reason I might continue to peek even a little bit is Luis Robert.

Leave it to the Sox to take what was an incredibly fun, young team and turn it into a totally unwatchable product in one season. I’ll concede that bad luck (mostly in the form of injuries have hurt them), but a lot of this was preventable, or at the very least somewhat fixable. They’ve done nothing but put band-aids on the cancer patient for two years.
If healthy and producing to their full capacity, it was a good team. What we realized after a few injuries was that it was a tragically flawed team. And ceased to even be fun. Thanks, Tony.

He hasn’t necessarily “been cleared.” He won’t face disciplinary action. This is what he agreed to:

MLB will continue to make support services available to Mr. Clevinger, his family, and other individuals involved in the investigation.”

Accused is a key word here. Bernstein, the hypocritical POS, did what he did. No "accused" as a qualifier is necessary.
MLB just gave Bauer a death sentence. They did an investigation here. The results of the investigatiion did not merit a suspension or even any discipline, despite the prejudging of this by The Score and The Twitter crowd (the same morons who were ready to burn the Duke Lacrosse team and Patrick Kane at the stake based on accusations that subsequently unravelled, yet I am the one who has jumped to conclusions here). If they had something, they would have thrown the book at him to keep losers like Julie DiCaro, Bernstein, and you happy. He has voluntarily (another key word here) entered into whatever this program is. We all know that won't be enough for The Score and The Twitter Morality Police.

Bauer is not banned. He is now free to play. However, no one, at this point, is going to give him a chance to play. As for Clevinger, I hated the signing because he sucks as a pitcher. I will admit I was wrong on this one after Day 1. I thought it would take time for teams to adjust to SBs with the larger bases after not focusing on the SB for however many years due to analytics. Looking like clubs may have focused on SB technique in spring training?
Will be interesting to see how DPs play out with the larger bases. Larger bases make it easier for the 2B/SS to get to and hold the bag now.

If you get a report, here there were 2 reports, you have to investigate. They did "interviews" (if you read the report you would realize this) but they were inadequate and done by hockey people and not HR or legal people. They also did not interview Aldrich. The hockey people wanted to wait to deal with it. That was wholly improper.
The mishandling of the investigation procedure does not mean Beach's allegations (as opposed to the allegations from others) had merit.

Here, there were cost and PR issues. Liability a concern, but his claims were too old that he was going to have problems proceeding with them. I understand your point, but I think it is off because he never had to be a pitcher until he had the TJ surgery. Now he has to convert from being a thrower into a pitcher and, shockingly, the Sox staff has been unable to lead him to the promised land. Doesn't mean someone else won't be able to teach him how to change his approach.

If you are waiting for Kopech to be a highly productive 175 inning plus year guy, it seems you are waiting on Godot. Good luck. I’d put the odds on him ever being that guy at 8-1 minimum.

One of two things probably happened:
1. Off duty cop brought gun in and dropped it. I originally thought this was what happened.
2. Someone, who knows where, maybe even driving around near the park or even on the Dan Ryan?, fired a gun in the air and what goes up, must come down.

Lopez is a nice utility infielder; good with the glove and runs the bases well. Shuster could be a backend piece for the starting rotation. Would love to see Soroka get back on track, but he’s trying to come back from an extensive injury history.

Soroka did finish 2nd in ROY voting and was an all star in 2019 before his Achilles went to shit. He’s only 25 so still young enough to be saved which probably won’t happen with the Sox.
