Hi, I'm GrandmaPAMan! Here are the things that keep me up at night!
1) The cleanliness of my grandson's underwear
2) Missed free-shots in a 30 point win on opening night in early November.
3) Justin Fields' ability to deliver a game winning drive in the 4th quarter, after carrying a dumpster fire roster of "talent" to multiple 30 point games. Will he EVER throw for 300 yards?! OMG just do it already! I don't care that you rarely get to throw it more than 22 times a game and are surrounded by trash! As they say in Missouri, Show Me! Not that I like Missouri, OMG ewww!
Let's talk Bears! Bring your cup!

Not surprised you liked the effort more than the others. You have a sense of humor.

I like the cut of GrandmaPAMan’s jib.

I sincerely wish I had the time to get drunk.

Still waiting for her comments on the number of turnovers in the Monmouth game

Plenty of time to drink when listening to Parkins each day

Might sound better too.

Everyone has 24 hours a day.

Everyone has 24 hours a day.
But not everyone has “free time.”

Pretty sure you said ubering freed up your time.

Pretty sure you said ubering freed up your time.
It allows me to create my own schedule. Still not much “me” time.
-
I suppose if I wanted to drink late at night a couple of times a week I could. Especially Saturday nights. But getting drunk at home with responsibilities the next morning isn’t really my idea of enjoyable drinking time.
-
Out of curiosity, what is your normal Uber schedule?
-
If I’m doing a full day 5am till 4:30 or so Monday-Friday. Saturdays 9-7ish Sundays I usually take off.
But it fluctuates wildly. I’m not as disciplined as I used to be and the pandemic changed things. It always evolving. I’ll take random days off or sometimes even a week. I don’t mind working 6 days or even Sunday morning a few hours if the money is good.
Rideshare fluctuates and it’s been going downhill steadily for a while. We basically took a 20% pay cut recently. Time to get back to a real job sometime soon.
-
When the pandemic was in full swing I could actually make more money in less time. I was working Chicago’s worst neighborhoods though. Still trying to pin down the best way to work “post” pandemic
-
You should just create your own app.
-
That's a busy schedule.

I agree with Miles. He isn't Carl, but who is?

As an FYI, Danny Parkins is out all week attending to a family matter, so not sure I can offer up to date sports opinions this week.

You seem averse to any analysis from people paid to do such analysis. So are you in the school of thought that only Bill Belichick’s opinion matters (and is he still a genius)? Are you of the opinion that all opinions are worthless (except yours)?
Maybe Tom Brady’s the only one with a worthwhile opinion?
-
From today .....
"Now, I’m not sure we’ve seen much in the way of meaningful change from Fields as a passer. His 51.7 passing grade still ranks 36th out of 39 qualifying quarterbacks. Just this past week, he threw a dreadful pick-six to take his turnover-worthy play total to 16 (second-most in NFL)."

I'm guessing Michael Renner gets paid for his analysis.

No. No. No.

That’s fine and dandy. Never said Fields was a finished product as a passer. But if you can’t see that 1) he’s been clearly improved since early in the season 2) the talent around him limits him (again multiple key drops). TD bombs, game winning TDs, 4th downs etc, you aren’t paying attention.
This guy is scoring 30 points a game and is surrounded by trash.

He runs better than Bobby Douglass
-
You can also see clear improvements in his reads and the little but critical details such as ball handling. His fakes have been outstanding. If you can’t see his improvement you’re a moron.

I don't think anyone has said he has not improved. Granted, it was a low starting bar.

The trash should get some credit.

Lol sure

This team would be scoring 13 a game with Zack Wilson.

This team would be scoring 13 a game with Zack Wilson.
Now it's the team ? I thought it was Fields.
-
Again, Fields certainly isn’t a complete passer just yet, but if you can’t see that the position is evolving, and Fields is the straw that stirs the drink for the Bears; you’re just a dinosaur. Or maybe stupid.
-

He’s the “main” reason, yes.

The qb is most often the straw of every team, from Pee Wee on up.

Lol
The offense was mired in awfulness two months ago. What changed? The philosophy changed and the quarterback play improved. The points went up. A lot. But yeah, EQ St. Brown is out there smashing.
-

Why is "main" in quotes?
-
The team is scoring 30.
The trash should get some credit.
Trash linemen who can run block on occasion get zero credit. OC who had to change from a pro style passing game to college offense (in part because the line can't block well) gets zero credit.
-
Judge Judy's trash, I mean guy, Herbert on the IR for 4 weeks.

Lol

So you're giving the coaching staff some credit ?

Dunno, just felt right at the time.

Of course, if you could read you’d know this.

" It’s more a matter of eyesight." 🙈

Honestly, it's somewhere between "Justin Fields is trash" and "Justin Fields is MVP material."
I mean, we're smart enough to know that, right?

I’m not sure you actually read the article…
“It would be nice if offensive coordinator Luke Getsy would open up the passing game in the final seven games of the season, starting Sunday in Atlanta.
I know: If only it were that easy. The Bears’ offensive line knows how to run-block. It struggles in pass blocking. It’s a big reason why Getsy and head coach Matt Eberflus have embraced the idea of Fields as a running quarterback. If he’s going to get pulverized, let it be by a linebacker or safety, not a defensive tackle who has trouble keeping the pounds off.”
-
“ If I were on the Bears coaching staff (looks at phone, still not ringing), I would press for more throws from Fields, specifically more deep throws. Everybody is in love with the running game these days. The Bears’ track club of Fields, Khalil Herbert (now on injured reserve) and David Montgomery has pushed the team to the top of the NFL in rushing attempts (360), rushing yards (2,017) and yards per carry (5.6). And it’s not just the Bears who are running more. Other teams seem to be falling in love with the running game again.”

As Morrisey points out, 12th in passing plays of 40 or more despite being last in pass attempts.
-
“The Bears’ run-first offensive approach gives them the best chance to win, even though they’ve lost six of their last seven games. But winning should be secondary to Fields’ development.”
Sounds very anti-PAMan “where’s the wins?!”
-
So obviously, you didn’t read the article. It was more of a plea to the coaching staff than an indictment of Fields.
-

Where did I ever say Getsy gets zero credit?

I think I have been clear that they should be throwing the ball 50 times a game so he can try and develop if they don't care about winning. Nonetheless, running the ball in today's NFofL does not win you games, as we have seen.
-

You called everyone else trash on multiple occasions.
-

That would be idiotic. He’d be in a hospital bed in less than 2 games.
Let’s get to 30 pass attempts first.
-
You called everyone else trash on multiple occasions.
With a few exceptions, most of the team is trash. We’ll be seeing a lot of new faces next year. Until they added Claypool, they had one WR you could be sure would be here another year or two. And about as many offensive linemen.
-
The Bears do have 3 good running backs.
With Herbert on IR, Fields will probably get more carries.
