Through phase 1 of the preseason without unexpected issues. Now shit gets real.
It seems likely we'll be down to a 7 or maybe 8 man core rotation come B1G play. Right now I'm not sure Mayer is in it.

As it should be. Guy is a gamer and should've been offered here more aggressively. Kind of like Rice, but the next level up.
I really like Hawkins as a player and think he can have a long career playing basketball but the guy is not captain or best player on a real team material.

Shannon is one of the more athletic talented wings we have ever had here without question. We have plenty of guys to arrange around him, but it will take time to develop roles and chemistry.
There will be growing pains but I like this team.

The Monmouth we played kinda sucks. They were 4th in the MAAC last year and have maybe 1 player who could crack our team.
Still, it's nice to just beat the living hell out of teams like that. See also, the time we lost to Tennessee Tech and the time Chicago State gave us a game to the buzzer.

Monmouth played the St Peters that went deep in the tourney tight in their conference title game last year. Zero clue how many guys returned and don’t really care.

These tiny schools basically sell kids on being able to continue chasing a dream. Especially for baseball.
Then the kids graduate from these tiny schools, and most of the time have to find a real job. And get lol'ed at when they are in an interview.

In my senior year of high school, I shot 72% on free shots. Probably not as good as Custard, but not terrible either.

Didn’t need one, it was going up anyway. I was told my defense held me back.

Well it's D3 so nobody is playing for money after college.No scholarship, but they beat down the tuition cost which is usually 40k plus.
Any kid who was a rotation guy in HS can make a roster somewhere. Some decent players.
As for Monmouth, the campus is amazingly nice in a real shit hole town. These small schools have big money donors.
