Well, at least get to the second weekend, but yet another year without winning the only tournament that matters.

I think the season will play out a lot like this:
Lots of new pieces will take some time to mesh and get a solid rotation set. That plus a tough non-conference schedule will make for some early lumps.
Team will begin to come together through December and if healthy will run through what looks to be a pretty soft B1G schedule to the tune of 14-6 to 16-4 and be in the hunt for the regular season crown.
I think we’ll probably end the regular season with 8-10 losses but will be the favorite to win B1G tourney. The early setbacks against non-conference teams (measuring stick between conferences) and lack of Q1 wins in a weak B1G will hurt Illini on selection Sunday where we will be a dangerous 5 seed.
Again, assuming we are healthy, especially at the 5, and Dain Dainja is a legit contributor, this team will have the recipe for a deep tourney run. Length, athleticism, smothering defense, and some shooting ability.
Sweet 16 or bust.

Uh-Oh! CBS picks us for conference title. I'm thinking we'll contend and make the SS.

No real clue in terms of expectations, but to quote Tony LaRussa, “I like what I’m seeing.”
-
Tempo, I know it is not Jan 6th, but not only am I concerned about Free Shot percentage, I am now worried that the Illini do not get to the line enough.

A lot of 3 point shots will do that.

losing to UCLA
You were not AOTC on this.

Not unreasonable.

This is valid. Nothing going north south in half court. Not making the defense react to anything. It's weird. Very passive, even Shannon who was attacking the basket like crazy early on.

KenPom the rest of the way.
18-5 in remaining 23 games with some losses built into their metrics for variances.
So not 24-7- we end up 21-10.

I don't think we're going to win 13 in a row at any point this season lol
-
Yeah that is why they have 3 more losses baked into the analysis.
Lol.
We were supposed to lose vs MD and will lose tomorrow.

We could win if we play well and hit 3s, hopefully they are well adjusted to the eastern time zone by now

I have not seen a team all year we can't beat. Also a lot of teams that can beat us on any given night.
Hopefully they are learning how to close games because there will be a bunch of close games that can go either way.
