Up 6 scores in the 4th and you run a fake punt?
-
Most basketball coaches are trash human beings, too.
-
Day said that there wasn't a fake punt on, the punter took off on his own. These fuckers lie all the time, so who knows.
-
"As Mirco rolled out to punt the ball into Rutgers territory, he spotted a swath of open turf and went off down the field.
“He saw it and took it,” Day said. “Just a football player.”
Later on, Day sought out Mirco on their sideline."
“I grabbed him, I said, ‘What happened?’ ” Day said. “He said, ‘I rolled out to the right and nobody was on me.’ I said, 'OK, did anybody tell you to do that?' He says, 'No.' I said, 'OK, we'll talk about that tomorrow.’ ”
Schiano said he came over from Rutgers’ sideline to protect Cruickshank and others who were in the middle of the melee.
“My player was in a sea of Ohio State players, and it was closing fast,” Schiano said. “I wanted to make sure of two things. I wanted to stop our team from coming across the field. That’s how things get very ugly. And I wanted to make sure our player got out of there safely.”
He added he has the “utmost respect” for Day.
Both of them shook hands at midfield when the game ended and appeared amicable.
Rutgers took the play off and didn't play defense on the punt.
Schiano's player was the guy who labeled Mirco out of bounds on the OSU sideline.
2 bad moves by Rutgers.

I’m not usually a cheap shot guy, but I have no problem with that punter getting lit up.

Now, this is good stuff.

He threw players under the bus! And we don't know if the person driving the bus had a proper license.
LOL.

Don’t think you understood the assignment.

Glad we kept Pringle, he’s a real difference maker.
-
Glad we kept Pringle, he’s a real difference maker.
I'm glad they didn't cut him. Because that would have been insanely stupid.
I'm not about to rehash that whole thing. I have better things to do with my life. I also have better things to do than worry about the stupid fucking Bears, or judging people on whether they are trash by what I see on Twitter. You know. Taking cheap shots. Need anymore context than that? If so, tough shit. I'm not spending anymore time on it. If you're too fucking stupid to figure it out, it's not my job to educate you.
Have a good day.
-
Glad we kept Pringle, he’s a real difference maker.
Well, he will have plenty of time to get his license at least.
-
Why would it be “insanely stupid” to cut a guy who’s probably lucky to be on an NFL roster?
-
Looking at the contract details, I can see why he wasn’t cut. His one year (overpriced) contract was about 97% guaranteed.
-
Who wants to bet their basketball season posting privileges that Byron Pringle doesn’t average 2.5 catches per game this year?

Isn't he on the IL? Plus, you have to count on Mitch Fields to get him the ball...Ain't happening.

2.5 catches per game that he plays…

2.5 catches per game that he plays…
Ok. Now focus on the part about the fact that the Bear QB sucks when he actually does have time to throw. He's averaging 6 completions a game?
-
I’d have to think the Bears will pass more at some point. 2.5 per game seems fairly modest for the highest paid skill position player on the offense, and a guy who is so indispensable it would be “insanely stupid” to move on from him.
-
I was disappointed when I looked up clips of this that it wasn't a bigger brawl.

The frat brawl video from the Ole Miss game was good.

Never said he was indispensable. You know why I thought, and still think, it was a bad idea to cut him. You’re either really stupid or you’re just being a dick.
I’m leaning toward stupid.
-
Too bad Spark isn't posting to partake in this.

True. He has (or had) the energy to argue about the same shit for 15-20 pages.
I, on the other hand, do not.

Again( pretty unlikely Pringle will ever be a player of consequence for the Bears. The money he’s owed was the best reason to keep him. My offer stands on the bet. 2.5 catches per game played seems like a modest bar for the teams’ highest paid skill position player.

Nope. No bet. I’ve always thought betting posting rights is weird. And I’m not a gambler anyway.
Have a good day.
-
On a site that has probably less than 10 people that post regularly, why would anyone want to make a bet that would make that number even fewer?
I mean, maybe you want me gone. I’m not here that much anyway. And I’ve tried to be civil with you. You may disagree, but I’ve definitely tried.
Oh well. Anyway, like I said before. I don’t agree with cutting any player for getting a misdemeanor. I don’t give a shit about their salary. That’s why I thought it was an insanely stupid idea. But again, you know that. You just choose to ignore what people actually say, and run them into the ground with other shit. I know how it works. And I honestly don’t have the time or desire to deal with it.
We can agree to disagree on this, and leave it alone. Or you can talk to yourself about it. Up to you.
Actually, PA man will probably be happy to go rounds with you about it. I’m done.
Have a good day.

He's paid more than Mitch Fields?
He's there because they guaranteed a ton of money on a team paying a ton of money to players on other teams. Ergo it would be stupid to cut him, it appears.
Why would anyone bet on him getting 2 5 catches/game when the QB is so bad that they won't let him throw unless they have to? It is questionable that Mooney or Kmet get 2 5 catches per game as it is. Fields sucks that much on top of the line sucking.

Makes more sense here than betting money with someone you’ve never met.

Your hard on for Fields is weird. He’s been given no help whatsoever in his year and a half here. Not saying his bad play isn’t also on him.
If the Bears are still throwing 14 times a game in a month the entire coaching staff should be fired.
-
JFC you are one whiney sumbitch.
Yeah? Well, you can go fuck yourself. If we met in person, we would see who would be whining, you fucker.
Go straight to hell. Asshole. I'm done with you. Don't talk to me again.

No moreso than Trubisky. Tough to say that neither staff has attempted to coach him out of looking down receivers and into making his reads. He just to be no good at this level.

He's an ex-Marine. He could kill you in 15 different ways before you could say "cocksucker"

Again, very very few QBs look good in their first 20 starts in the NFL. When you’ve been given no help whatsoever, it’s probably even harder.
-

You keep saying he's been given no help. You don't believe both staffs have worked with him on his footwork? Making reads? Not staring down receivers? C'mon....
Are you going to damn Tomlin for Trubisky still being shitty?
-

No help as in putting good players around him. I also think both staffs have done a poor job of tailoring game plans that emphasize what he does well.
-
I’m also not convinced he’s had good coaching. Nagy clearly was overmatched, and I’m not impressed by Getsy thus far, either.
-

Trubiksy probably has close to 40 more NFL starts than Fields. Trubisky is just shitty. He’d be a fine backup.

Except we are seeing Fields do the same exact shit Trubisky did. They are the same guy so far.

It's not funny. It's sad.
-
Lombardi on his pod this week said Pace picking Trubisky and Fields before getting fired is the equivalent of farting as you leave a room.
-
It's not funny. It's sad.
What’s sad is the way you draw parallels that don’t exist. e.g. “Ryan Pace drafted Justin Fields, and so far he’s not good therefore Justin Fields will always be bad. Just like Mitch Trubisky.”
-
The shit you are spewing is about as meatball as it gets.
-

Don't pull your Spark shit with me. Whoever drafted him is irrelevant. The fact is he has looked just as shitty as Mitch. We now have had 2 staffs working with him and not even the simple stuff has changed. They have to run a HS offense for him because he sucks at progressions and reads. Sometimes you have to blame the kid. FUCKING COOPER RUSH IS BETTER THAN HIS SORRY LAME ASS. It is tough to find QBs but it is time to cut bait and move on.
Lombardi made the fart joke. He did wonder who in the hell would ever let Pace scout QBs again after those 2 shit picks.
-

No it is not. Fields sucks ass. Just like Mitch. Just like 10,000 other Bear QBs since Sid Luckman.

Again, the kid has next to no help.
Again, name me the list of QBs that were obviously great after 13 starts.
-
Fields will, or won't, show that he is obviously great in start #14 or #21.
-
Tempo would cream his jeans if Fields could put together a second season like this the first 14 games of 2022: A passer rating of 95.4, 3,223 yards, 24 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

Correct

No,.I didn't. He sucks. Mitch sucks. Tons of Bear QBs have sucked in the past. Tons of QBs in the league have sucked. It happens.
-
He just needs to start hitting Pringle.

Better numbers than I remembered. Having said that, about 20% of that production was in one game against Tampa when they literally started all rookies in the secondary.
Also, helps having a historically great defense that puts you on short fields and legitimate NFL talent on your line and at WR.
-
I’ll give it to you that Fields has significantly more headwind in his second season than Mitch did. But even if we can excuse his laughable stat lines, he also fails the eye test and two different coaching staffs demonstrably have zero trust in him.
-

It’s idiotic to say “him.” Maybe they don’t trust everyone around him, either? Sure, he’s been bad a lot more often than not, but it’s way too early to be declaring him a bust. Again, he’s been set up to fail. It’ll damn near be a miracle if he’s any good this year.
-
And I’ve heard some in-depth analysis that says it’s not all bad. So I’ll hang my hat on that rather than be ReactionaryMan (aka PAMan).

I'd rather trust much better trained eyes like Trent Dilfer and Tim Jenkins. They say there is still a lot to be optimistic about.

Unlike Mitch, I didn't say Fields sucked until after I saw him.playing in the NFL. So I have that going for me.

I posted one of his videos earlier. Not sure the last video supports your thesis. All the "good" throws were 1st reads aside from one. He panicked when he had a clean pocket quite a bit. One where he did do his progressions he, properly, ran the ball.
-
If Fields is bad this time next year, I’ll be worried. I am not panicking on the kid yet. Again, please give me the extensive list of QBs who were clearly stars before their 14th start. It’s not a very long list.
-

Fair enough on the timing. I just think I have seen enough at this point.
The issue is not "who were clearly stars before their 14th start" it is who showed they had the skills to clearly be NFL keepers before their 14th start. Don't guys in the NFL all have "great" arms? (There are obviously exceptions.) Isn't the issue who has what it takes "between the ears - football wise" and has the mechanics to consistently release the ball quickly, accurately, etc., the ability to read defenses, set up blocking schemes when there is a blitz, etc. etc.? Even Mitch showed that he had an arm and could make plays. You could even argue that Mitch had some better physical skills than guys like Roethlisberger and Brees. Yet, he isn't comparable in the least. Fields has not shown he is, either.
-
Justin Fields has every “skill” you could want in a QB. It’s just a matter of putting it together.
-
You’re worried about Fields’ arm strength? I have to wonder what you’re actually watching when it comes to him.
-

Again, piss poor coaching. Piss poor line play. Piss poor receiving corps. Hands down the worst in the league. I’m reserving judgment until he gets better or gets some help. My goal for this year is to just see him get better and finish the year healthy. Those would both be big wins.
