Most bar fights the cops are never involved, if they do get involved maybe someone spends an evening in the drunk tank then pays a fine. Will Smith will probably voluntarily kick down money to some anti-bullying non-profit just to try to diminish the damage to his career. He'll take a few hits to hit career but it's not like he's Kevin Spacey, this is more Robert Downey Jr. level stuff
The Tucker Carlson talking points about "what if Matt Damon did this", it's a red herring. Chris Rock wouldn't take a similar jab at Matt Damon, Will Smith being in the same demographic as Rock is why Rock was more edgy with Smith than he would a white actor, because the irony is more acceptable within the same cohort (see: N word).

They've definitely been trending lower but ...
Over the past decade or so the question of "how many of the nominees have I seen in the theatre" kept having a lower and lower number for me, but only because going to a movie meant a babysitter, and if I haven't seen the movies what do I care who wins?
In the pandemic, nobody has been going to the movies. And even with streaming (CODA won best picture from a streaming site) - when you go to the major streaming sites the big hitters are things like Big Little Lies, Ozark, etc... serials which don't fall into the nominee categories.

She had been pretty open about her condition prior to this, and even somewhat celebrated having a shaved head. So someone made a GI Jane joke about it. And Demi Moore's character was a bad ass in that movie, so was it really an insult? Seemed harmless really.
