Title: Ryan Poles
Post by: Reacher on March 11, 2022, 08:38:42 PM
Is cleaning house, and I love it. Get that Ryan Pace stank off this franchise.

Tearing it down to the studs I see.

Now don’t go being so over the top. You make it sound like more than it actually is. Every GM does that when they take over a losing franchise. Nothing special.

You’re gonna make Tempo break out in hives.

Good try. Close, but no cigar.

What takes more cojones? Sending Khalil Mack packing? Or jettisoning Michael Finke?

Also a big difference between a 53 man roster and a college basketball team where maybe 8-9 kids actually play, and 3 of them will graduate. And you’ll turn over approximately 50% of your team in 2 yeas regardless of situation.

You love to get your skis out over your head. Trading guys is no longer as tough as it was as football GMs have gotten younger and more analytical in nature. Guy has not even had a draft yet.

Trading Mack was certainly on the table, but not at all a given. Can’t imagine the defensive-oriented head coach was the first one in the room shouting “trade Mack!”

It’s a pretty clear sign Poles is looking to modernize the team and start investing more assets/money on the offensive side of the ball. And again, with a defensive head coach. I applaud what he’s doing so far.

They are moving to a 4 - 3.

They are moving to a 4 - 3.

Mack has played in a 4-3 and done so at a HOF level. His best sack season came playing in a 4-3.

Sure; but he’s done it.

A lot of anxious people already criticizing Poles for not being more aggressive in FA. I’m ok with slow-playing things. This team isn’t winning next year. All for playing it slowly and making a big splash in FA next season.

I love that he’s not overpaying on anybody. Some of these WR contracts have been insane and paying WR1 money to a WR3. Don’t need any bad contracts.

Agree completely there. I’d like to get a good FA WR, but don’t think I’d break the piggy bank for one.

I think Poles knows what he is doing.

Setting the Bears up to take a huge step next year. This year just tearing it down to the studs so he can build it back up the right way.

Saw an article that the Bears could be players for Saquon Barkley. Not sure what I’d give up for him, but man I’d love it.

I like the moves so far. Perfectly down with filling holes and building depth before adding megastar FAs. I’d expect some big swings next year with a lot of coin in the piggy bank.

Just like Ryan Pace started to lose me (early) with the Ray MacDonald fiasco, I will be very concerned about Ryan Poles if he doesn’t take severe action against Byron Pringle. Personally, id cut him. You’ve got to send a clear message that being a knucklehead doesn’t fly in Chicago. It would be back luck for Byron Pringle, but no Joe Blow player is going to get away with that if I’m running the team. Dude isn’t Michael Irvin. He’s just a dude.

One year deal. Can’t let that guy skate. I’m surprised he wasn’t released today.

Seems a little over the top for doing car donuts, Tempo. See my other post.

On a suspended license, with a child in the car. But keep going…

No draft discussion? Who’s watching? Not that it matters, but curious if Kiper liked the Gordon selection.

Is that really a bad week, tho?

Honestly, I’ve had some of my best weeks when Tempo is really mad at me.

Shoulda kept Mack. Coulda contended with he and Roquan. Add Joe Burrow and they’d have had the best record in football…
