Previous hosting arrangement wasn’t playing nicely with SMF mobile theme. I have to license the plug in yet and install it but hopefully by days end we will have a nice mobile theme.

It's about time I tracked down you cesspoolers. Clearly you need some real moderating, and as you can tell by the fact that I have taken a selfie in my car while wearing sunglasses, I mean business. I don't have time for you snowflakes doing whatever you want. Damn millennials. I was on the front lines in the Cold War, filing paperwork while you were in diapers. Custard, I will be looking for moderating orders by 0900 tomorrow AM.

But time passed and nothing happened and everyone was struggling with the reddit format so I took 2 hours and $35 and made a half-assed forum for half-assed Illini fans. 🤷🏻♂️

I did manage to get the free HTTPS thing. That was a pain in the ass.
The LK dog got one of his tech guys to investigate fora plugins, but he encountered the same problems I found.
It would be nice to have a forum with embed capabilities. I don't know why this web thing is so difficult, but obviously being 29 years old it's probably some millennial bullshit.

Is there a particular OS or browser which renders this site as mobile?

I’ve spent some hours this week trying to get this figured out. I paid for, downloaded, and installed the mod, but it’s not working correctly. I’ve been back and forth with customer service about 50 times. I have a golf forum I started in 2013 on this exact same platform with the exact same mobile mod installed the same way with the permissions set the exact same way. When I enable it here it renders something that looks kinda like Tigerboard.
On my other site it’s worked flawlessly for years. I literally told the customer service rep today I’d make them an admin account if they’d just come and get it working for me then I’d delete the account once they were done. I haven’t received a response yet. I’m flummoxed.

I used to run a forum using smf. Its really easy to change the theme colors around. You can also use free ones and alter them to your liking.
Just go Here (https://custom.simplemachines.org/) and search for orange themes then alter a good one to fit the Illini color scheme. There are a ton of great mods to spice this thing up too.

I can’t seem to toggle between desktop and mobile. I can request desktop and mobile themes on my iPhone but nothing really changes. I’d like to see the format wider to fill the screen and not have the big spaces between the replies and quotes in threads. I will check it on my laptop later.

Yeah, Im still searching for the code to shrink the space between replies. When you say you want the format wider, are you referring to the entire board? If so, I can fix that this weekend. As for the mobile theme...that theme has a mod attached to it that isnt playing nice. The mobile theme was sketchy for me before changing to this theme. This theme seems to be ok on my mobile phone, but hit me up this weekend and we can jump on discord and try to fix the mobile theme. If you go look at the "candy" theme, I already changed the colors of it to match this forum. I just cant seem to get the thing to play nice.

Oh yea, I dont have control over the mobile aspect of this theme. The best solution is to get the actual mobile theme you have and fix it so when you are on a mobile device, it defaults to that actual mobile theme. For some reason though its being a dick.

WTF is up with my text message apps? Texts are not coming through when on wifi (doesn't matter where). Everything was fine for a long time and then BOOM! (Wondering if the apps updated or something.) Have Samsung 8+, used the Google Messages (as I like that I can get them on a computer) and now back to using the Samsung default messages app (as I can at least see who sent the texts that are not coming through).
Yes, turn the phone on and off once daily. Have cleared out the cache for both messaging apps. Nothing changes. Sucks as much as 2020.
