No Belo tonight or this week, probably for the season to be honest. He's been out now what 10-11 games?
Hopefully we keep improving defensively. We have to get better when Kofi's not on the floor. I have a worry that without him we are likely sub .500 this year.

Agreed, Payne/Hawkins have got to pick it up on the interior...Hawkins rebounds well for his size, however Payne was supposed to be the defensive presence...not there yet...minutes are just to low and production is lower so far...
-
Hot garbage so far.
-
Yeah, the Belo situation is highly unusual. 95% of the time NFL players are in less than 10 days. It’s fair to wonder if he’ll be back at all at this point.
-
Bounced back nicely after the early Nebby flurry
-
And then gave it all away.
-
Trent needs an earful at half.
-
We're not good
-
11-0 run to end the half. Defense blows ass. Shot selection is shit. Dribble dribble shoot
-
It's as if weren't even trying to run any kind of offense in the final five minutes.
Hope Underwood has an ass chewing ready at halftime.
-
Or defense
-
We're not good
So you’re saying not to bet my Bovada balance on Illini to win the title?
-
I expect the Illini to come out motivated and wipe the floor with these scrubs. But it wouldn’t surprise me if Nebraska’s ball pressure keeps them in the game or maybe even wins it for them.
-
Defense has been bad tonight. We did this shit last year against weak ass competition. Bunch of lazy lackadaisical bullshit.
-
I’m not concerned at all that we’ll lose.
-
Full sports night tonight. Been Flipping between the Blackhawks (Win) Bulls (winning big) and Illini ... how can you let this team hang around
-
Smart timeout by Underwood. Kofi looks tired.
-
Nebby getting to the rim at will.
-
Payne giving us good minutes tonight
-
Payne having an impact

Payne and Hawkins with many hustle plays tonight.
-
Nebby played hard. This wasn't easy.
-
Was a lot harder than I thought but a good win. Sometimes you need a game like that to stay focused.
-
Just one of those games where you get a surprise scare from an inferior opponent. Huskers gave us all we could handle from the opening tip. Payne and Hawkins came up huge in crunch time. Trent Frazier does Trent Frazier things.
-
Michigan next up on Fri.
Maybe. If they feel like it.

It was Nebraska's superbowl so they gave it everything.
-
Hard to think of a scenario where it was more comfortable having Payne on the floor vs Kofi.
-
Best game of the season for Payne. Happy for him.
Hawkins coming up big.
Trent just being Trent.
-
A completely arbitrary number of observations from tonight’s game:
Kofi still isn’t quick and still struggles against undersized guys that are. His passing has improved by leaps and bounds but I sure would like to see him work more quickly when he catches the ball against smaller defenders. Sometimes being slower draws more defenders from their assignments and leaves our shooters open for a kickout, but he gets swarmed too often.
Nebraska played good fundamental defense most of the game.
Was nice to see Payne come in and provide some bounce off the bench when things were looking grim. Looked to me like Trent could have fed him at least two more oops off the pick and roll. Made his fros.
Plummer has cooled off quite a bit since that insane stretch he had prior to the Covid pause.
For a guy playing 30 mpg it would sure be nice if DMW could give us a little more…anything…offensively. Big three tonight, though.
Trent is a bad motherfucker.
Nebraska is a womens’ sports school.
Last year it took regulation heroics and OT to beat these clowns in Lincoln, so this team is better without Ayo.
-
I love that we're capable of winning this game relatively easily in the end with Kofi limited, Curbelo out, and Plummer cold.
-
I've greatly enjoyed participating in womens’ sports.
-

They took OSU to OT and really could/should have won it in regulation. Wouldn't surprise me if they trap a team or two @Pinnacle before the end of the season.
-
Especially if Trey McGowens returns. It looks like he's ready.

Worst Big 10 of all time. I see it as:
Purdue- #2 seed
Michigan State- #3 seed
IL, OSU, WI - (#4-#6)
Indiana - Bubble
8 other teams complete dogshit

Good job by Custard hitting a number of board memes in this thread.

Bookmarking for future ridicule.

So after last night that Illinois has now won 11 of its last 12 Big Ten road games. Not a lot add to from what has already been stated here but it was good to see Payne have his best as Illini to date. Thought Hawkins made a few crucial plays that really propelled us towards the end. I think Vegas had the game at -12 and 151 on the O/U. They straight up nailed the Maryland game right down to the score the week before.

Again my mind hasn’t changed…
We’ve lost all meaningful games thus far…Another easy one on Friday. Once they actually beat someone, then I’ll give credit where it’s do. And hopefully Belo doesn’t come back, they play better without him…Just like Ayo
-
Due.

Finally got around to watching the game, this was a good win, nice and grimy but we pulled away when it counted the most. Great to see Payne step up big time when Kofi got hit with his 4th foul because the rest of the team was playing like shit and we couldn't hit a 3 to save our lives. These are the games you don't really look back on fondly but they really help with team chemistry and such going forward.
And what ever happened to reviewing when people get hit in the face? Nebraska was smacking people left and right

This does not make a whole lot of sense, does it?
