I remain skeptical, so yeah. I'll believe it when I see it. Not going to get ramped up given the complete ineptitude against Loyola..

I think team will be better than last year’s. More shooters to spread the floor and no waiting around for Ayo to do something.
Payne should give us a quicker athlete to defend guys like Liddell and Krutwig and Baylor’s front line that gave us fits last year.
We might not have a better winning percentage overall but I think the roster is much better prepared for a deep tourney run.

I had a great time yucking it up with Omar and Coleman last week. Great personalities.
Everyone seems to think Plummer is the team's assassin, and he's been hitting 46% plus from the arc. Theoretically the aforementioned Hi-Lo combo will give him better looks than he got at his previous stop. But they also said his step-back is unstoppable.

I said I thought we could be better team without Ayo and got crucified here a few months ago.
As Custard states- this will be a more balanced offensive team with better shooters and an actual point guard who knows how to run a team.
Only questions are:
1) At what point in season does Hulka get them to play hard team defense? It has taken awhile in both of last two seasons, but they were pretty good teams when they did.
2) Can they teach Kofi to throw a basic skip pass from block to opposite side. Or any kind of pass to anyone open for that matter.
If they do both well, we could win six games in March. We sure as hell will win more than one.

I do think the offense will flow better because there was a lot of standing around. I think we’ll miss Ayo closing out games and just how clutch he was. When he went out last year, you saw a glimpse of what could be this year and it was pretty nice.

All these guys are a year older. Curbelo is going to be incredible. From all reports it sounds like Hutcherson will contribute. Grandison was really solid down the stretch last year and hasn’t even really been talked about in the off season because so many of the other pieces have been getting the attention.
The core of this team learned how to win tough games last year but also stubbed their toe big time in the tourney. Kinda like Virginia did the year before they broke through. You know that loss to Loyola has to be motivating them (and the staff) more than anything they could point to at this time last year.

Augustine only averaged more rebounds than Cook’s senior year one time, his senior year. And Cook was the far superior all-around player. Especially when James Augustine was a sophomore. You’re really dumb about basketball for a guy who spends so much time around it.

The smallish wrinkled dress shirt that looks like it’s buttoned wrong but probably actually isn’t. The 90s khakis. (At least they aren’t pleated). The lanyard for your press badge restless atop your collar.
But rocking the taupe blazer and slides while barefoot really ties the room together. I feel like this is how The Dude would dress for a job interview. Minus the jellies, obvi.

Other than back to back road games in early Feb at Indiana and PU, the schedule looks to be relatively favorable.
The wheels can fall off for any team at any time, but I'm not seeing a 4-5 game stretch in the schedule where that may happen.
