This Pedophile versus the Racist Rock Cheese Eaters game is really boring.

I haven't watched much of the PSU-Wisconsin game. Tied up 10-10 in the 4th, so seems like pretty evenly matched teams. Just saw a Mertz pass almost get picked off.

Michigan State's roster turnover looked good against Northwestern last night.

Last 10 minutes of the game have been really good. Not sure why Wisconsin didn't double team WR Jahan Dotson. During conference play, gotta double him, IU's Ty Fryfogle, and OSU's Chris Olave / Garrett Wilson.

Badger QB Mertz has attempted 31 passes for only 143 yards. That's not going cut in against good opponents.

43-17 time of possession. 96 plays. Just good enuf for a home loss. Lol.

That disparity was very surprising. Just goes to show a team has to execute in the red zone and score TDs, which Wisconsin only did 1 time in 4 such trips. The other 3 red zone possessions for the Badgers resulted in 2 INTs and a missed FG.

PSU has some players on defense. #1 looks like a Sunday player. But that was not the same Mertz that just shredded us.
You can't make red zone mistakes and come up empty in a low scoring game.

Ohio State's defense is garbage (again). DC (Kerry Coombs) needs to change up things, including during the game. Oregon has a really good team led by a very experienced QB. The transfer portal can be a game changer for programs.

On 9/11, Vanderbilt -- one of the worst P5 college football teams -- traveled to Fort Collins and beat Colorado State 24-21.

Today, in Iowa City, Colorado State leads #5 Iowa 14-7 in the 3rd quarter.

Crazy.

Elsewhere...

#9 Clemson 7 at NC State 14 in the 3rd quarter.

Clemson is...well...Clemsoning

Georgia State 24 at #23 Auburn 12 in the 3rd quarter.

Somewhere, Gus Malzahn is laughinng.

Nebraska pummeled the Nurds like they were an early years Ron Zook squad.

They certainly aren’t terrible and we beat them…sucks we have lost three games by a combined 14 points, two of which were heartbreakers we completely blew at the end.

Oklahoma isn’t very good. Ohio State isn’t even the best team in Ohio.  The PAC sucks. The B1G West is a joke, aside from Iowa. Wisconsin has been a huge letdown. Clemson isn’t good. Florida…lol. And why the fuck does Texas think they have any business competing in the SEC?

Might as well fast forward to Alabama/Georgia. About the only meaningful game left on the calendar in my estimation.

This isn't 2020, when Alabama had a historically great team and beat a Covid-depleted Ohio State team in the CFP Championship. Bama played 11 games before the CFP, while Ohio State only played 6 before the CFP. Huge advantage for Alabama, especially on the OL, a group that needs lots of game reps before they really hit their stride. QB Justin Fields was injured (habitual targeting specialist Skalski cheap shot to the ribs in CFP Semifinal) and the Buckeyes lost their starting RB to injury on the 1st play after the opening kickoff in the CFP Championship. That being said, 2020 Alabama was clearly the better team that day.

2021 Alabama isn't that good compared with other recent (non-2020) editions. The Tide barely beat Florida and LSU, both of which are train wrecks and have fired their head coach. Last week, the Tide survived Arkansas. Earlier in the season, Bama lost at TAMU, which has 3 losses. I would love for Ohio State to play Alabama (or Georgia) this season. IMO, the Buckeyes would beat Alabama by 10+ if both teams are healthy and the game is fairly officiated. Georgia's defense is special but it hasn't faced an offense with the skill players Ohio State can put on the field. The issues with Ohio State the past few seasons have been on defense.

It seems like tOSU is getting better, but they have had the luxury of playing B1G teams. I've seen this movie a ton of times before.

Yup, so have I...in 2014. New starting QB (J.T. Barrett after Braxton Miller was injured just prior to start of season). Won crossover game at Minnesota. Lost the 2nd game at home (Virginia Tech). Started to play better as the season progressed. Beat #7 MSU in November.

This season, new starting QB (C.J. Stroud, replacing departed Justin Fields). Lost 2nd game at home (then #17 Oregon). Started to play better as the season progressed. Won crossover game at Minnesota. Beat #7 MSU on Saturday (11/20).

If the Buckeyes beat Michigan this Saturday, they'll likely play Wisconsin in the 2021 Big Ten Championship Game. In 2014, they beat the Badgers in that game 59-0. I think Ohio State has a better offense this season than in 2014, but the defense was better on that team.

Beat Michigan!!

Today's games that may have a bearing on any bowl chances for us. Losers should get eliminated from bowl talk due to record or APR.
KSU at Tx. 11am.
Coastal Car at S Ala. 2:30.
TCU at xxxx St. 3:30.
Wash St at Wash. 7pm.

Root for KSU, Coastal Carolina, xxxxSt, and Wash St.
And beat NU.

KSU, down 2, goes for it on 4th and 1. Texas gets the stop and takes over at the 30 yard line to kick a field goal to win by 5.
KSU went for it on their own 30 yard line. 9 minutes were left. WTF. 🤡🤡
Texas goes to 5-7 with a better APR than us.

They were up 21-9 at the start of the 4th quarter. So they decided to get a punt blocked and run in for a td, then fumbled a couple of plays after getting the ball back. Down 7 with the clock running out, the qb threw a pick at the end zone without a receiver within yards of the ball.

South Alabama gets eliminated from bowl talk, in overtime. TCU gets routed by the team from Ames, located in the state just west of the state of Illinois, to get eliminated.
Washington State sends WashU down to defeat, ending their season at 4-8.

About a dozen games today to impact our bowl chances.
Root for Rutgers. Both Rutgers and Md are 5-6. We have a better APR than the Terps, but not Rutgers.
If the favorites win today, there should be 1-2 open slots for 5-7 teams based on APR.
Cal and USC are wild cards. They both have 4 wins and play each other next week. They both need to lose today as underdogs to UCLA and BYU.
Hawaii is 5-7, plays 13 games, and is at Wyoming today. The Rainbow Warriors need to finish 5-8.
UTSA is looking to finish 12-0 vs N Texas, to eliminate the Mean Green at 5-7.
Beat NU !!!!

The turtles may be cooking our goose. They're up 33-16 over Rutgers in the 4th. A Md win puts them at 6-6. A Rutgers loss leaves them at 5-7 with a win over us and a better APR.
The ball don't lie. We lost to both at home.

Sparty is last out of 130 teams in pass defense. If they gave up no yards today, they would still be last. Yet they-re 9-2. There's something to be said for scoring points.
UTSA seeing their national championship go up in smoke. Down 25 in the 3rd.

I'm counting 83 bowl eligible teams. The SEC has 13 out of 14 eligible.
USC is at Cal next Sat and the winner goes to 5-7. Both have a worse APR than Rutgers.
5-7 APRs are Rutgers 31, Cal 38, Tx 43, us and USC at 58. Rutgers is in line to get the 84th spot.
We'll see if anybody declines a bowl bid.
This team had tremendous improvement over the course of the season. Those 15 extra practices would be nice.
PS: the coach is trash.

I think it’s a great move for LSU to get a coach as good as Kelly.  He has gotten maximum results at each school he’s been at.

For Kelly himself, it sure will be a much more difficult task but LSU has had 2 dingbats win national titles there in Miles and Orgeron.  Getting an actual good coach, to go with all their NIL stuff should make for a really good team.  Kelly will be able to recruit better players at LSU than ND.  Probably believes he can’t win a title at ND but can at LSU.

I wouldn't write off Michigan just yet. Georgia is offense challenged. OC Josh Gattis coached against a Kirby Smart defense in the 2018 SEC Championship when he was Co-OC at Alabama (35-28 Tide win). Also, the Wolverines are arguably a bad call away from being undefeated (overturn of fumble recovery TD against MSU in a 4 point loss).

All of the planets might be aligned for UM this year.

I'm not sure I would count scUM out either. I'm not sure they've seen a run defense like Georgia's and they don't have the qb or receivers that Bama has tho.

3 issues:

1. Jim Harbaugh isn't Nick Saban

2. Jim Harbaugh isn't Kirby Smart.

3. Kirby Smart has a few  weeks to fix things. Jim Harbaugh just happy he saved his job.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. But if both teams have trouble scoring, a turnover can be all that it takes. I still think Georgia wins tho.

C'mon, MI blew a 16 pt 2d half leave in that MSU game and MSU's defense is awful. Let's get real.

Yeah, Michigan got too cute against MSU and got pass happy for some reason. Gattis learned his lesson and against Ohio State, the Wolverines kept running the ball.

Alabama barely beat trainwrecks LSU & Florida by 6 & 2 points. 2021 Alabama isn't that good (compared with other editions). The Tide beat an overrated, offense-challenged team in the SEC Championship Game. If Georgia ever got an OC who knew about the forward pass, it would be a much greater threat to win meaningful games (or at least not choke so badly). Until then, the best thing from Athens might still be the B-52s or R.E.M. And let's not forget almost all of the SEC programs keep firing/hiring coaches every few seasons, which makes things even easier for Alabama to roll through the league.

Just to be clear, I'm not a Harbaugh fan and definitely not a Michigan fan (unless they're playing Notre Dame). That being said, Nick Saban has *NEVER* led a shitty college team to a victory over a #1 team. Harbaugh coached 2007 Stanford (1-3 at the time, 4-8 season) to a huge upset of #1 USC (4-0 at the time, 11-2 season & #2) at the Coliseum. Ironically, that was only the 2nd biggest upset of the season -- Appalachian State over Michigan was the biggest one. Yes, Saban is a better *college* coach than Harbaugh, but Harbaugh was a much better coach in the NFL than Saban.

Name 1 big game Kirby Smart has won as head coach at Georgia. Beating Oklahoma in the 2018 CFP semifinal, you say? Beating OU in the CFP has been a given for *EVERY* opponent. The SEC East has been the most overrated division in college football for years, perhaps since Urban Meyer was the Gators head coach.

Smart: Jake Fromm >>>> Justin Fields

Me: LMAO & thank you, Coach Smart.

If they’re playing the bama that showed up against Auburn and LSU, then yes. If they’re playing the bama that showed up against Georgia, then no.

I’m guessing Saban will have them ready to play.

That would be similar to a situation where no 5-7 teams are offered a bowl slot if they run out of eligible teams.

It’s a real shame some of the best punching bags didn’t make it onto the ark.

I thought PeoriaSteve and Big10Man had abandoned HQOG for some time before its demise.

CT was always good for a laugh at his expense.

Mn, you at the Winter Classic professional ice hockey game? Love the Wild uniforms for the game.
Here you go. A sellout crowd. 38619.

This better not be true. If it is, good job NCAA.

"former Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch took to social media to tell Williams that GameAbove Capital is offering him $1 million to transfer to his alma mater Eastern Michigan."

Incomplete pass. Good call.
Decent drive by Bama. Georgia's turn.

Glad Georgia pulled it out.

Gotta appreciate the journey for Bennett, the QB for Georgia. Goes from walk-on and no scholarship offer outta HS to MVP of the National Championship.

Why was Georgia favored to win the game after Alabama dismantled them a month ago? My inner conspiracy theorist thinks Georgia called the dawgs off in the SEC title game to make sure SEC got two teams in and set up a likely rematch. Huge payday and showcase for the conference.

Seems risky. You slay Saban and knock him out of the playdowns when you get the chance. Have a better shot st winning it all then.

The 2 best conferences are the SEC East and the SEC West.
Bennett spent half the night running for his life, but he had all of his weapons to work with and Georgia had it's defense.
Bama lost Metchie to an injury in the SEC championship game, and I assume that had a lot to do with the spread. Then Jamison Williams gets banged up and Young didn't have 2 great receivers.
Put Metchie and Williams in the game, and the final score may have been different.
Some good talent on the field last night, but the walk-on is who will be remembered.

Not sure about that. If you don't block effectively, you aren't able to throw the ball downfield. Plus, Bama replacing 5* WR with more 5* WR.

Metchie and Williams are 1/2 of the Bama passing offense in receptions and yards.

Georgia's D forced Alabama to kick 3 FGs (in 3 red zone opportunities) in the 1st half. Tide left 12 points on the table. Also, Georgia's D did a great job against Alabama's running game, which finished with 30 yards on 28 carries (+73 yards on 24 carries before Young's -43 yards on 4 carries are taken into account). No Najee Harris in the backfield for Alabama, that's for sure.

Meechie was injured in SEC Championship, so Saban & Company were able to game plan for his absence in the CFP Championship. When Williams was injured early in the 2nd quarter, it allowed Georgia to completely ignore Alabama's vertical passing game. I told my wife "game over, Georgia will win" immediately after the play in which Williams was injured. In today's game, teams need WRs who can stretch the field when facing very good defenses. It's too difficult to try and grind out multiple 10-15 play drives against teams with quality defenses.

I understand that. And that while Bama is loaded with 5* WR, the game is still won on the O and D lines.
