Being reported. Still on pause.
Due to one athlete in women's program with the new UK variant.
-
The pause was extended because they had only 2 days before their contest with Illinois, citing they needed time back together as a team resuming practice.
Michigan despite being 8-1 in the Big Ten has yet to play Illinois, Ohio State, Iowa, Rutgers, and Indiana

Hey Sven, what kind of penalty should the UM athletics department face for being such dumbasses?

At the very least they all need a good kick in the crotch. The fact that they wouldn't let us test out of this bullshit while they have bragged constantly about how good our testing is about as frustrating as it gets. Especially when the initial order from the health department said "up to 14 days". They gave us an out and we were too chickenshit to take it.

Man it feels good just seeing that 6 by our name in mid Feb.

Has anyone seen a plan for rescheduling all these 'postposed' games?
-
Yes.
-
Go Blue! ;D

Looks like Michigan is only going to play 17 games. Anyone else think this is bullshit? The excuses they are providing are lame. We damn well know they are trying to use covid to protect their win percentage, in order to get the conference title. Big 10 needs to step in, but I am sure they will step in like they did for to$U football.

I have been telling myself everything was going to work out in a somewhat fair manner but doesn’t seem that’s the case unless Michigan gets dinged on the back end for not playing the games when they clearly had enough time to do so.

Or the big 10 can let every team that played the full schedule subtract any 3 games from the conference record (that's sarcasm to illustrate how scUM should get dinged). They had time to reschedule, but they are providing some very "dog ate my homework" excuses.
-
Didn't Nebraska just play two road games back to back at MD?
UM is nice team, but their AD and BT is a bunch of pussies.
I see they are playing us on March 2nd now.

Hopefully this is not a "Be careful what you wish for" situation.

win or lose - I want to play them. I also want UM to play 20 games like everyone else and let the chips fall where they may

Thanks Big Ten!

I didn't mind what they did in football. Gave it to tOSU because they would have been in 1st place regardless, and played more.
In hoops, use the same thinking. Give Michigan a loss for each game not played.

It was clear Ohio State was the best football team in the Big Ten in 2020 even before the Big Ten Championship Game. OSU beat second place Indiana head-to-head, as well as every other East Division team it played. The Big Ten eventually formalized what everyone with (and using) a brain already knew -- the Buckeyes were the best team in the East Division and deserved to play Northwestern for the conference championship despite having 3 games cancelled by Covid-19.
In basketball, Illinois just has to continue to take care of business on & off the court and things will take care of themselves (barring a complete stop to the season by the conference, NCAA, and/or government). Why worry about how many games Michigan plays (or doesn't play)?
Everyone here (except Sven) is a Buckeye fan tomorrow (when OSU plays TTUN), right?

Why worry? Because title is based on winning percentage unless our worthless commissioner steps in. You would be fine with Michigan getting the title over someone who is 1 game below, but played has played all 20 games to their 17? Especially in the strongest conference year we have probably ever had in recent memory? Sorry, I can't let that fly. You want a chance at the conference title, play all 20 games and stop making excuses.
-
I get both sides of it yeah we control our own destiny but no it’s not right they get to play fewer games when the opportunity was there to play them under the similar circumstances other teams have overcome to make up their games.

Yeah, it sucks when a team uses Covid-19 as an excuse to duck games it arguably *could* have played (per pandemic protocols). I know that as well as anyone here -- Michigan *unequivocally* ducked Ohio State in football this past season, forcing the Big Ten's hand for the BTFCG. Apparently ducking is contagious (systemic?) in Ann Arbor, at least as a means of avoiding potential huge losses. That being said, I'm not as concerned about a regular season title during the Covid-impacted 2020-21 basketball campaign. IMO, it's the conference tournament championship that really matters. Perhaps the Big Ten will seed the winner of Illinois-Ohio State #1 overall in the conference tournament given Michigan's fewer games played. Regardless of what the Big Ten does (or does not do), Illinois will get its shot at a conference championship. If the Illini remain healthy and play to their potential, they have a very good chance of bringing home the hardware from Indy.

A lot of important games coming up for the top 4 teams.
Just gotta win.
