No Billy Rucks?
-
He's TWO players.

No Billy Rucks?
I was thinking Bill Rucks to be the big man, but then couldn't decide between him and Olaf Blab. My other 4 on the floor would be Dee, Deron, Gill and the Spoon.

Why does everybody hate Scott Pierce?

Almost got it. Derek for Dee for me.

Nick Anderson, Nick Weatherspoon, Rich Jones, Derek Harper, Deron Williams, Kendall Gill.

The Roth Factor was mentioned at family Christmas.
Since it’s the holiday season Ima go with
—Snacks running the point
—Jamar Smith’s egg nog at the 2
—Ol’ Eat and Sleep Ervin Small manning the 4
—Tisdale’s 10,000 calorie diet anchoring the middle
—And in a tie for the wing position we have Ray Rice and Aaron Cosby’s Minnesota Green Kush
-
In the backcourt , the golden gunner from Gibson City, Dennis Graff, along side Reggie Woodward. Inside, fan favorite Rodney Jones. Brad Farnham at power forward. On the wing, "Bricks Taylor".
-
Nick Anderson, Nick Weatherspoon, Rich Jones, Derek Harper, Deron Williams, Kendall Gill.
I can't beat that list.
-
Great names. Lol.
Y'all forgetting Kiwane Garris.
Toughest little fuck I have ever seen who could do it all.
And then the guy who dunked on Shaq.

Wish I could find a way to add Eddie Johnson to the list. Remember his buzzer beater vs Magic Johnson/MSU in 1979. Unfortunately the euphoria didn’t last long. The PG got injured and the team went 4-11 the rest of the way.

the late Mark Smith from Peoria Richwoods was actually. better basketball player than EJ. He just liked to party too much. EJ became a very good shooter.
Ken "Snake" Norman is another one worth mentioning. . He was more of a 3 -4 tweener -- a strong inside player.
-
I think EJ is on record saying Mark Smith was the more complete player. But I think Eddie passed Smith up in his senior year.
Ken Norman was a load. I still remember him dropping to the floor burying his head in disbelief after Austin Peay upset the Illini in the first round of the NCAA tournament in 87.

Surprised nobody’s mentioned Deon Thomas yet.
-
I wish we had Lucas Johnson on this team although in today’s game he’d probably foul out in about 2-3 mins of game time. But maybe he lays out a guy like Ron Harper Junior on a breakaway layup in that space of time and completely alters the entire game.
-

Good point. Now that you bring up Deon I think about Kofi. Deon was more skilled obviously but both dominant bigs in college with minimal NBA prospects. Sadly Deon’s career here will always be tainted the scandal and declining success of the program. I can’t know what actually happened but it seems a shame an 18 year old (and the Illini program) bore the brunt of the fallout while Bruce Pearl is still making millions after being outed as cheating piece of shit on multiple occasions. In the real world when these kinds of trends are established over time sometimes people like Pearl get punished and the people they victimized are vindicated. But, per usual, money.

Pearl is swine and that's being nice. It does happen in business and politics which are both about money. Sad....

Actually, in the real world pieces of shit like Pearl are even more prevalent, and thrive with near total impunity in our dysfunctional failed democracy experiment corrupted by unfettered capitalism.
Just last week the Queens hillbilly criminal carnival was discussing invoking martial law to somehow overturn an election in order to stay in power and continue to fleece America under the cover of faux populism using ignorant white grievance rubes.
We have nearly 350,000 dead from a pandemic in nine months, economic devastation, world chaos.....and the stock market is up 20% this year. You might already know that 84% of the stock market is owned by upper 10% of the country.

Yeah it literally makes me sick to my stomach every time I see that POS. It baffles me how he can still be employed. ESPN and all these programs continue to suck his dick and it’s sickening.

I think we should start another list in true cesspool fashion:
Top 5 Biggest Assholes in Illini BB history.
-
And because this is an inclusive yet quirky community, we should include nice guys who just happened to have big assholes.

I’ll definitely add Kendrick Nunn and potentially Leron Black to that list.

Or were swimming in Asian butthole?
-
As we are including anyone we fckign want becuz that is how we roll - even those who were not actual Illini players I nominate:
1) That fckign asshole ref who blew the Miami NCAA game call.
2) Rupp Arena. The fkcign refs buttfcked us as the NCAA had a home game for Kentucky.
3) Sean Livingston for wearing an Illinois jersey to school before he picked Duke.
4) Weber. For being Weber.
5) Cliff whatshisname for the HAT fckjob.
6) Scheyer. Just because.
7) Pearl, of course.
8 ) Groce. For being Groce.
9) Izzo. Whiney bitch.
10) Lickliters kid. Fkcign dork.

First, Mark Smith from Peoria declined as a basket player due to off court problems. EJ improved every year he was here.
Biggest pricks: Rodney Jones, Jereme Richmond, Mark Smith from Edwardsville, Alvin O'Neal, Billy Morris.
Best Defensive: Bruce Douglas, Kenny Battle, Randy Crews, ... Gill? Harper?
Best Bigs: Skip Thoren, Efrem Winters, Deon Thomas, Brian Cook, Kofi.
-
In no particular order:
Eddie Johnson
Nick Anderson
Deron Williams
Derek Harper
Kendall Gill
-
I can't beat that list.
Agree. Hadn't thought of Rich Jones in a long time. His suspension paved the way for Dave Scholz to become a starter and leave as the all-time scorer when he graduated in 1969. Spoon was so good.

Dog's post makes Chris Kramer look like a giant. But obey, was that the lowest imaginable point for the conference? Todd playing Little Lick is arguably worse than Lovie hiring Miles.
And BTW, the ref is named Antinio Petty.
