Title: 2026 NFL Draft
Post by: Reacher on April 23, 2026, 07:10:52 AM
Who are the Bears taking? First 4 picks should be all defense IMO (unless the Bears take a center 3rd round)!

PAMan will be disappointed to know that I have not done ANY pre-draft homework.

Too busy reading The Epstein File?

Was just thinking I have not paid attention to any draft talk

No clue, don't really care about the draft.  Watching it is like watching paint dry.  Playoff hockey is much more entertaining.

My mom is in staying with me after 6 months in Mexico. Made dinner, fell asleep. The reviews I’ve seen on the Bears’ pick so far are quite positive.

A white DB, huh? Hope he’s not Chris Conte 2.0

"Safety was identified as a need for Chicago throughout the predraft process, but the mock draft exercises all said Thieneman would be off the board by pick No. 25. The board fell perfectly for GM Ryan Poles & Co. as Thieneman is the type of versatile playmaker that the Bears so badly needed. Adding Thieneman next to newcomer Coby Bryant gives the Bears the type of enforcers at safety who were previously missing from the team. The Super Bowl aspirations in Chicago should be real with the improved safety duo."

Per ESPN.  Wannstedt rated him top 10 in draft.

I was AOTC on him because I watch FOX News…

Glad that Poles prioritized drafting a blocking TE over drafting Dline.

The fishwrap had the Vikings taking Thieneman with their 1st round pick at 18. Instead of a guy to break up passes they took a DT from Fla who breaks his feet

LOL you think Poles prioritized that?

Wait . Are you finally agreeing that The Bear HC is also the personnel guy?

I’m agreeing that if they reach on a TE it’s definitely high on Ben Johnson’s wish list.

So they spent a 3rd round pick on a small (but very fast) WR with a round 6-7 grade? This is also definitely a Ben Johnson pick.
This guy sounds like a smaller version of Velus Jones.

I conceded long ago Ben Johnson was going to have a good amount of say in his first couple of drafts; and coming off of last year I suppose it’s been earned.

I don't know what they are doing, but isn't Kmet gone, and our kick returner gone as well?  I seriously have not been following any off season stuff

Kmet is not gone, but he ain’t for long. Duvernay will be gone if he isn’t already.

5th rounder Keyshawn Elliott given a 3rd round grade by Dane Brugler, and another guy said he might be the best blitzing LB in the draft.

Wouldn't shock me if he did. Poles turns into an idiot from the 3rd round on.

So the entire world agrees that the Bears’ biggest need is DL and they go an entire draft without drafting a defensive lineman. But they did spend a 3rd round pick on a kick returner (in 2026), and drafted a punter (after recently spending a high pick on a punter). They must know something we don’t (maybe they have an addition coming in FA or via trade).

So I guess they did draft a DLineman in the 6th. Judge Judy sent me an ESPN screenshot of the Bears’ draft but weirdly he wasn’t on it (but the 7th rounders were).

Supposedly this guy is an athletic freak. Must have been pretty low on production if he wasn’t drafted until the 6th round. At least they added something. I don’t have a problem with most of the picks, just not sure about the value or need of a 2nd round pick (technically a 3rd) being used on a secondary or even 3rd TE.  Not sure about the WR, especially in 3rd round when he was projected 6th or 7th.

I am miffed at drafting a punter.

I like the first and second picks a lot. Even if they drafted the Center a little early. Based on what I’ve seen he was #1 Center on most boards. I like the 4th round Corner, too.

I hope the new punter is good at safe driving

What about the WR?

I know the odds are he isn't.
