Where do the Illini wind up? What matchups we looking forward to in the playoffs when they’re announced? Which games will Tempo not watch but act like he did?
-
The Big10 bowl contracts ended in 2025 so who knows, but ....
The Nuts, the Hoosiers and the Ducks are in tCFP.
USC goes to the Rose.
Michigan to the Orange if the Big10 has a bowl tie in.
xxxx to the Citrus.
We battle it out with Washington for Tampa or Vegas.
Edit: disregard all of this. :D
The Rose and Orange get quarter-final games. So skip USC to the Rose and Michigan to the Orange and move everybody down a bowl in the pecking order.
Except USC and Washington are eligible for previous Pac 12 tie-in games.
Hopefully we don't get relegated to NYC. Lol.
-
CBS sends us to Tampa vs Tennessee and USC to the Alamo Bowl vs Houston and Washington to the Holiday Bowl vs Pitt in former Pac12 bowl tie-ins and that's where they belong this year. Lol
They send xxxx to Vegas in a game I won't watch.
And go Dook. Beat Va !!!

At this point I think OSU, IU, and Oregon are set in the playoff. I think everyone's assuming USC and UW go to the better remaining PAC-affiliated bowls because the PAC alternatives are Utah and the Arizona schools.
Michigan seems like a lock for the Citrus, which leaves Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, PSU, and NU slotting into the Reliaquest, Music City, Las Vegas, Pinstripe, GameAbove, Rate Bowls. Guy at Athlon puts us in the Pinstripe Bowl vs Clemson with Iowa-Vandy in the Reliaquest, Minnesota playing LSU in the Music City and Nebraska playing Utah in the Vegas Bowl. We'd be getting hosed in that scenario because the Music City is IMO a better bowl and we should be above Minnesota in the pecking order.

All of which means, of course, that you can book your airfare to NYC and hotel today.

Bowling has pretty much been nuked in the South Bay. Land is too expensive. Several lanes closed. The few remaining spots seem to be cheap novelty houses, with the neon lights, and to keep maintaining the lanes cheap they have the pins on strings.

FWIW ESPN guys have Nebraska in the Music City, Minny in the Pinstripe, and split on **** and us in the Reliaquest and Vegas bowls:

Not going to Vegas just to watch this team.

I really never want to go to Vegas for anything ever again

As Mn correctly called, we are indeed heading to Nashville for our bowl game to take on, you guessed it, the Tennessee Volunteers in the Music City Bowl.

Man they're really shoving this "rivalry" down our throats
Whatever time to smack another overrated sec team around on their home turf!

Washington gets the Mountain West champs, Boise, in the LA Bowl next weekend.
Michigan vs Texas in the Citrus. A given that Michigan was going to the Citrus.
-
Would've liked the Outback vs Vandy or have Missouri slot to the Music City, but this is a fairly good bowl slot even if it's a relative road game. Hopefully we don't draw Tennessee in any major sport for the next few years after this.

Vandy does get the Outback vs xxxx.
We probably would have been in the Outback if we had showed up in Madison and got a win.
Nebraska goes to Vegas vs the Utes.
The gofs go to Phoenix vs New Mexico.

The Crying Irish decided not to go bowling. TACO!
They always chicken out!

There were at least as many Illini fans in Bridgestone last night as there were Tennessee fans it might’ve even been close to 2/3 Illinois fans. Granted they’ll probably show up more for football than they do for basketball, but they’ve been a better basketball school lately. It was pretty awesome as we were walking down the stairs on the way out, the whole place was screaming ILL INI. Saw one of my buddies from back home on the Jumbotron, texted him, was able to get together with their crew for drinks afterwards. There is a section of Broadway that’s barricaded off on the weekends and it was just a throng of orange clad Illini fans chanting. Lots of ILL and INIs ringing out from balconies and bars as the mob passed. Pretty cool. Probably the most fun I’ve had at a basketball game since Wake in 04.

We're 6 1/2 point dogs to open.
"Aguilar leads the SEC with 3,444 passing yards, the fourth most in a single season in UT history, along with 24 TD passes. He’ll face an Illinois pass defense that ranks 15th among 18 Big Ten teams, allowing 226.5 yards per game.
Altmyer passed for 2,811 yards, 21 TDs and five interceptions this season. He’ll face a Tennessee pass defense that ranks 15th among 16 SEC teams, allowing 248.8 yards per game."

Orange and Blue travels. The Broncos/Raiders game in Vegas yesterday was like being at a Denver home game.
