Open up against Pittsburgh; heard the Steelers might have the best defense in the league. Should be a lot of eyeballs on this one! NFL certainly has some juicy narrative driven games early in the season!
-
Ew
This should go in the nfl general discussion thread

Don’t be so naive.
Of course!
-
You guys love talking Justin Fields just as much as I do, I didn’t get the JFC thread to 377 pages by myself!
-
And I also didn’t permanently pin it…
-
Who else is excited for the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets today?! I KNOW you guys are with me, let’s goooo Jets!
-
I think the Jets dominate the Steelers today, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they didn’t.
-
Justin Fields’ 5th rookie year (basically!) starts today!

I don't always root for the JETS - but when I do, they are against Rodgers.
Sack on the first play. Love it.

Even at my in-laws house everyone is a full play or two ahead of me.

That's what I just told Cowherd34... Aaron Rodgers owns Justin Fields.
-

Indeed
-
Rest of these games have sucked
-
Unfortunately, I watched no football (at all) after the 1st quarter.
-
Apparently I whipped Custard’s ass though, so that’s a plus 😜
-
Just took the first good look, and off to a dominant start in both fantasy leagues!
-
I’m not saying Fields is Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, or that’s it’s always going to “look good,” especially on the stat sheet; but I’m fairly confident there aren’t a lot of quarterbacks in the NFL that would put up 32 points with that offense, because outside of Wilson and a couple decent RBs they don’t have much.
-
I think Fields having a coach that believes in him and knows how to use and develop him will help him a lot. We’ll see.
-
Here we go. The board has morphed into a Jets and Justin Fields board. The never ending Fields stuff continues…

As I said, I didn’t get the Justin Fields thread to 377 pages by myself and I didn’t pin it. The appetite for it has been there.

Well, they got to play a Pittsburgh D that could neither stop the run nor cover guys when the Jet did throw. They were excellent defending the 2 point conversion though.

Yep, any success Fields has is due to someone else’s ineptness. It couldn’t be that Fields played well.
-
Even when Fields does something well PAMan tries to disqualify it somehow, like the TD pass to Wilson that hit him in the bread basket (Wilson had to slow down to get it). No he didn’t, it was a nearly perfectly thrown ball.
-
Dear Justin, we’re sorry. Please come back!
-
Dear Justin, we’re sorry. Please come back!
Would take.
-
At the half, JF7 with twice as many completions as Justin Trubinsky. 2-1 but Trubinsky leads JF7 in passing yardage, 32-25.
-
The Jets are terrible. And Fields isn’t helping them. Aaron Rodgers is lucky they didn’t want him anymore.
-
Can’t stop the run. Cant keep from falling down on defense on 3rd and long. Fields playing like he just picked up the game.
-
And now he’s out.
-
Brutal performance.
-
Joey Bosa has been all over Fields most plays I’ve seen.
-
How could they even tell that Fields had a concussion? Was he misciting Bible versus?
-
Versus who?
-
Versus who?
God
-
God
Fields probably would have fared better against God today than the Bills.

Hey all you Justin Fields/Jets fans! I know you’ll be watching tonight! Good luck!

Fields’ fault Braelon Allen fumbled at the 1 yard line.

(Shotgun) J.Fields sacked at MIA 47 for -11 yards (T.Dodson). FUMBLES (T.Dodson) [T.Dodson], RECOVERED by MIA-Ja.Phillips at NYJ 47. Ja.Phillips to NYJ 43 for 4 yards (A.Membou).

Yes, he makes mistakes sometimes. Wasn’t as costly as fumbling at the 1. He also took a horrible play call and turned a busted play into a 43 yard touchdown.
-
Also Fields’ fault Isaiah Williams fumbled a kick return inside their own 30! And Fields’ fault punt returners are fair catching punts at the 3 lol
-
Justin Fields sucks. He's in the perfect spot, because nobody gives a flying fuck about the Jets.

No doubt all you Justin Fields fans are looking forward to tonight's matchup! Can JFC1 and the Jets cool off the red hot Patriots?! Seems like a good spot for a comeback down to earth game for the Patriots. Here's to hoping all you JFC1 fans can go to bed with a smile on your face tonight. Go Jets! And most importantly, go JFC1!

He wasn't QB when they took the lead against the Bengal, so still 0 wins!

I looked at the stats for last night.
"He produced only 23 passing yards in the first half."
"The AP’s Josh Dubow took to his X (formerly known as Twitter), outlining a striking statistical parallel between the two seasons, each featuring Fields at quarterback for offenses that posted the lowest passing production over the last 14 years."
The 2 seasons ? The 2025 Jets and the 2022 Bears.
"Jets QB Justin Fields is the common denominator in worst passing offenses in 14 years"

Army throws the ball almost as much as the Jets. Also, he had about 70+ yards in drops. But ok.
Also, I will say that something has happened with him. They’ve circled the aggressiveness out of him, or something. Go watch the Pittsburgh game his rookie year. Not the same guy we’re seeing today.
-
And again, they threw it 7 times in the first half and he had 40 yards or more pass dropped.
-
And again, they threw it 7 times in the first half and he had 40 yards or more pass dropped.
Again, maybe there’s a reason multiple HC and OC coaches don’t want him throwing ball. Only one common denominator…
Was it 70+ or 40 yards in drops? And other can/have argue(d) a few were bad passes as well…
-
And I’m not saying Fields has been “good” this year, by and large he hasn’t. But look at who he’s throwing to. Is there a single guy on last nights’ Jets team that would take snaps from McConkey, Allen, and Johnston? No. And I don’t think the Chargers have an exceptional group, but they are a competent group.

Again, instead of offering him 10s of millions to start, maybe they should bench him. If you don’t trust your QB to throw it, play someone else.
-
One was a 40 yard drop. Another hit Mitchell right in the hands that could have been a big catch and run.
-
My copium is off the charts ;D ;D
-
I kinda feel like Bustin would be amazing in a Taysom Hill type role.
-

At least Fields isn’t a pedophile bilking Americans for billions and trampling on the Constitution.
-

Maybe, but IMO most of Justin’s best runs are improvisational, not designed.
-
Again, I think the aggressiveness has been coached out of him. And when you only throw it a small handful of times, your incompletions become magnified. Justin needs to go to a SF, LA, Mn next year and be a backup, and see if he can salvage his career.
-
I agree to a point, but I also feel like, even on a 100% drop back pass play, sometimes he knows he's gonna scramble and run when he breaks the huddle.
He could run Taysom type shit, and do it effectively. I have zero doubt about that. It would sure as hell be better for him than the shit he's done thus far.
-
Minnesota could be a real opportunity for him if McCarthy hasn’t figured it out. High level starters don’t grow on trees.

His aggressiveness in college came from receivers being college open. He's not a good enough pure passer.
He could be a good backup, no doubt. But he's not good right now.

McCarthy has bust written all over him.

Again, watch the Pittsburgh highlights his rookie year. Doesn’t look like the same guy IMO.
-
I'm pretty damn surprised at how good Drake Maye is. I haven't watched him enough, but looking at his numbers, on that Pats team...Damn.
That's an NFL QB.
-

Yeah. Well, he sucks now. Can he salvage it? We'll see. Obviously I have my doubts.

Is there an OL off to the right and a guy waving his arms and yelling throw it to me. Throw it to me. I've got a wide open field and blockers.
-

LOL. No, it is the same guy. You are finally realizing how shitty he is.

I wouldn't be too sure.

He needs to go to the arena league. I don't think he would succeed in the Canadian league
-

Lol
-
Lol
He be delusional…
You’re supposed to be his ally…
-
For the record, I wasn’t saying Fields is a high level starter. Just that Minnesota might not have one for next year because they don’t just grow on trees. They might be bringing in a lotto ticket or two.
