Perfect.
If Tre White is still in the doghouse somebody needs to let him out.

Maybe Trump can sign an executive order

Broken wrist
damn this season has turned into an epic disaster
-
Now Underachiever has an excuse to use.....
-
he was one of our best players for sure, he broke it on that crazy two handed block play that showed a lot of hustle
but yeah, fucking MSU always injuring our players
fuck them
-
No foul on that play either as he was undercut
-
No foul on that play either as he was undercut
they didn't call shit on MSU the last 8 minutes lol just an absolute free for all of over the backs and moving screens and body checking
-
Terrible news. I'm thinking a top 2 seed in the NIT at this point. Maybe we have him back for that.
-
The field sucks so much ass that we are still showing up as a 6 seed but christ does this suck. Need KJ and Ivisic to carry us against every game we're favored the rest od the way.
If we lose to someone like WVU or Oklahoma in the 1st round it'll suck but be at least a little bit amusing.
-
Oklahoma
Porter Moser does have Underachiever's number.....
-
Porter Moser does have Underachiever's number.....
Lol good one
-
Not ideal. We lose our top rebounder and we’ll probably get more Carey Booth shoved down our throats on top of that.
-
We lose OUR BEST rebounder, this blows, on the heels of the last game, that blew, and on the eve of Wisky which will probably blow also, and Duke around the corner in MSG, Where we ain't gonna make it...we can't make it anywhere (3's) that is...
-
Perfect.

Brad did say he had a great practice yesterday

Fuck this season.

I was afraid that he banged his head off the floor.

Hey Ty Rodgers is available.
Just a jump shot away from NBA.
He possibly has one now
I assume he is taking 1000 shots a day and now bench pressing 300 lbs.

I've wondered more than once if that fucking Fletch guy makes our players worse. They don't need to fucking be ripped bodybuilders.
-
Shut your whore mouth.
-
This Illini season is more of a thud than losing to Austin Peay

Oh shit. Touched a nerve. I didn't know ChickenGeorge wanted to fuck Fletch...

Oh. Maybe that's what it was. But until I hear otherwise, I'm assuming Chicken wants to bury his cock in Fletch's ass.
-
Here is a little factoid for you. In the 2007 NBA pre draft combine they had you bench 185 as many times as you can as one of the tests of strength.
Kevin Durant had zero. Only guy tested who couldn't do it.
-
Kevin Durant is pretty good at basketball
-

Boswell's 3 pt % is significantly down from his first 2 years at AZ. Rebounds are way up, but that might be partly a function of our bombing strategy.
-

I got torn a new one for suggesting that on Loyalty because some people I know are very close to the Humrichous family and that’s what they’ve been saying. He’s a career 43% shooter or whatever and has entire games he has wide open shots and can’t hit anything. You can’t tell me that changing your body and strength can’t affect something so delicate as the ability to consistently throw a ball through a rim not much bigger than the ball from 23+ feet away. Breal or whoever 0441 is mocked me by saying well all the other players have the same regimen, to which I pointed out they all suck too.

Who have we had that’s a “ripped bodybuilder?” Kenny the Snake Norman and Roger Powell were pretty good. Morez is pretty ripped but came in like that.
-
Every single preseason they post the before and after fletch pics where they are all noticeably more ripped than when they came in.

Tempo, shut the fuck up. Go pick up James and take him to the gas station.
-
It's well documented that this Fletch guy is used to put them through an intense body building regimen. Hence the whole "body by Fletch" bullshit.
If you want to pick a fight and argue, go fuck yourself. Moron.

I guess the question is does Illinois develop player's shooting?
Whatever we are doing when they get here doesn't typically seem to create improvement.
A few exceptions for periods of time. DaMonte, Grandison, Hawkins in second half last year (but he sucks again) come to mind.
It is not the norm that people improve their shooting here.
I just think we don't recruit them.

Hmm. Hear me out LK.
I'm a D1 basketball player. Not the strongest guy in the world, but have D1 talent and can knock down some shots.
I get here and this maniac gets my ass in the weight room and pushes me to my limit. I get strong. But I'm sore as fuck all the time. My shot is harder to maintain because I'm sore and my arms are bigger that I'm used to.
Now, I miss a bunch of jumpers and I can't get my confidence back. Any swagger and advantage I felt like I once had slowly disappears.
Feasible?
-
For 40 years I’ve been told adding weight and muscle to 18-20 year old frames was good. Now it’s bad. No wonder society is fucked.
-
Every single preseason they post the before and after fletch pics where they are all noticeably more ripped than when they came in.
Almost every team (power 5) I’ve watched the Illini play in the last 18 years has looked at least physically equal or bigger (development wise) than the Illini. Big muscles aren’t what’s holding our players back.

It may be good, but not for shooting 3 point shots. Both can be true.

Our teams actually look more grown up under him than they did under Weber and Groce. I remember playing Seton Hall once (and they weren’t even that great) and it looked like boys against men.

I beg to differ, the human's largest muscle is the gluteus maximus, and well our guys haven't been playing there asses of lately. That muscle is holding some back, easiest shots taken, lazy defense, losing the 50/50 balls, etc etc, the hardest working muscle is the human heart...I think all of the guys hearts are working in overdrive, not like they don't want to win.

Certainly could be. It's complex as fuck is my guess.
Shooting is technique and part mental.
Either of those things goes off or is not present and you are fucked. And it gets tougher as you go up the ladder.
The guy I loved watching was Plummer.
Great form, footwork, quick release, and believed in himself no matter what. Always thought the next one was going down.
Great shooters have that mindset and good fundamental technique ingrained.
If you watch a game in person at court level you realize how difficult it must be to keep it all together as a shooter facing a tough close out against players with great quickness and length. High D1 makes the court look small.
I watch a lot of D3 BB locally in person for fun and even at that level marvel at how tough it must be.
Players actually might get better looks in NBA I think because of elite spacing, passing, positioning, kick outs and ball reversals and they all get world class teaching on shooting. A guy like Ayo with really below average technique is provided open catch and shoot looks to step into and learns to take the shots he can make. He is good enough to stay in the league.
Not everybody can create their own space and shoot off the bounce like Curry or Clark or Lillard.
Great technique holds up under pressure and builds confidence and it becomes circular and self affirming.
We have guys who were obviously successful at various levels but are struggling now. Not getting clean looks, taking lower percentage more contested shots, and their release is maybe not quick enough or breaks down at this level.
We play Iowa soon. Watch Sanford and Dix.
Pure form and a lot of confidence.
We have a lot more talent overall but nobody like those two.
-
Morez Johnson back March 12th? BU eluded to this possibility in a recent interview.
Having Rez back and moving Humrichous to the bench, should help us regain some swagger into the B1G tourney and NCAA's.
Let's hope this is the case, with Rez starting again or even first guy off the bench (Iowa scored 9 straight against us when Ivisic went out), we should hopefully fair better.
-
That would be awesome.
-
Quick return from a broken wrist. Would be nice.
-
Hard telling what he’d be able to give us coming off a month layoff.
-
It's actually close to 3 weeks. Didn't know one could heal that quickly.

We may find out today when Morez will be back. But I wouldn't be surprised if we don't.
He's been cleared but needs to get in game shape. He apparently practiced today.

This last post in this thread was from November, lol. I think you probably would have been ok to start a new one, without the "Morez Johnson out" shit.
You're not this dumb, right?
Don't really answer that...

Today looks like the dude made the right choice getting away from Underachiever.

He kicked our ass…

ILLINI made Rez look really good, however Rez is physically so much bigger this year than last which equates with confidence and also a edge to play very well tonight....we lost and we were supposed too.
-

What's his NIL at Michigan vs what we could have offered ?
Not saying he wasn't leaving anyway but we do need more physicality and athleticism
-
I hate saying this but Morez Sr was partly right when he talked about how Underwood didn't fully appreciate what Morez could do. This is not solely due to the difference between year one and year two.
-
I don’t think the plan for Morez long term was to keep doing what he was doing last year as a true freshman big who also got hurt and missed time. He couldn’t shoot a lick and has progressed a lot in that regard. Probably would have done so here, too.
Still think it mostly came down to money and the Johnsons wanted a reason to make it look like it wasn’t just money for PR sake. But maybe May is getting more out of him than we could have.
-
Those who shill for Underachiever still shilling for Underachiever despite the results in TOTTM.
Now there is not even the bullshit B1G title to fall back on

Doesn't seen to matter when you have Underachiever who can't win win 2 AAs and then drives off Johnson for soft Euros.
-
We got our butts handed to us on a golden platter.
Underwood may want to think about his recruiting "analytics" going forward.
On the plus side, we don't have a Mayer to punch an Epps in the nose
-
Recruiting analytics would have predicted that we would've gotten our asses kicked in even harder. We wanted two of the guys who killed us last night (one of whom was on our roster last year) and I'm sure we would've taken Cadeau in a heartbeat. May probably offered Stojakovic, but Jake Davis or Ben Humrichous wouldn't see the floor for Michigan and either Ivisic is playing reserve minutes.
It doesn't help that we're injury plagued this year which took Rodgers out and has hit Petrovic (who I still suspect should be playing but is in the doghouse), Boswell and Stojakovic (including last night I think), but Michigan has a better starting 5 at 4 of 5 spots on paper and a deeper bench.
To the extent there's a recruiting issue, it's that we are slow and struggle with any team that can neutralize the height advantages. But even if you had quicker players on the roster, I don't have full confidence they would've been on the floor yesterday.

Probably humor here, BUT, the NIL package for ILLINI isn't the issue....we got lots of deep pockets helping and more to come.....
The issue is the "culture" that our staff wants...many don't fit into that culture....maybe some families don't as well.
Fichigan is damn good, very cohesive, some of their pick and roll plays were top shelf....their aggressiveness is what won this game. Now would Rez had been great for us this year sure...he would be the starting but with Mirk, we would be facing the same issue as last year with his family and him saying PT and skill set wasn't being utilized. At the end of the day I think the Johnsons just wanted out and Fichigan was there in the beginning and at the end...
Move on, hope we get better, and hope we don't run into Fichigan any time soon, not sure the outcome will be any different.

Pretty sure Mirk wouldn’t be here if we still had Morez.
It’s kinda funny comparing the stats against the Johnsons’ complaints that he wasn’t being used properly. And needed to be shooting threes.
He played 18 mpg last year as a true freshman on a top 25 team, and his per minute stats aren’t much different than this year. Points a little higher and rebounds a fair amount lower this year.
He has improved his FT% almost 20% and has taken 19 three pointers on the season, or about .67 attempts per game. Maybe Dusty May taught him how to shoot in the off-season but I’m guessing he just got better.
Big reason he wasn’t on the floor more last year was that he couldn’t defend without fouling. Once he got better at that he was getting more minutes and turning the corner. Then he got hurt against MSU on that block attempt where he landed on his chest and missed some games.
I don’t see much that indicates he would have been on much of a different trajectory had he stayed at Illinois.
-
Morez Johnson 3rd team all B1G. Kudos to the young man.
-
Congrats to Rez, don't like how things with family and him turned out for the ILLINI, but Kudo's for making it work.
-
Looks like he’s projected to go late first round in the draft. Any of the NBA experts here know if late first round NBA money can pay more than Michigan? Sven?

Average late round $$$ is in the range of $2.3 million to $2.5 million, he is at that this year already from my understanding....so YEA he could stay and make more............................however..................if his family is involved, and we know they are-and will be.........my bet is he would jump.

Ok. Guess you are far more impressed with the play of the Ivisic brothers over that of Morez Johnson, unlike the B1G media and coaches....

Nope. Just didn’t want him kicking our ass anymore or rubbing it in. Just was sick of the bullshit surrounding it…
