If I was a gm we'd be doing a lot
For the Mich st game we would do a reunion. pack the hosue be loud! show highlights during time out!!
other games I would have done like tshirts to celebrate, posters, show our love for that team!!!!
a few season ago they celebrate 20 years of a big ten tile team (well deserved) why not a runner up to ncaa title team?

Goddamn sometimes stuff like this pops up and it really puts into perspective what a clown show that was Illinois athletics for the better part of 15 years. I repressed a lot of those memories.

How is Cory Bradford's jersey not up there?
The serious answer is that they made "objective" criteria for the jersey thing, which Kofi and TSJ meet as consensus AAs and Bradford doesn't. The criteria are kind of dumb but work to set a firm borderline.

If the 01-02 team had a more seasoned Coach Self...man we would have easily won the title

Man that was a fun time to be at UI. Won the football title that fall then segued into that basketball team. That was such a stacked team, gritty af, played with a chip on their shoulder.
