Title: RANKINGS
Post by: ILLINICHIEF on January 25, 2025, 05:46:10 AM
Can't really complain about rankings this year...ILLINI metrics are saving them. Only team with 6 losses still in the top listings.

ILLINI, Arizona, Gonzaga in the NET

Same with Kenpom rankings

HELD onto #23 this week.

Not much difference in W vs L's from spot 6 to 25 really, gonna be some interesting games this March.

I’m kind of shocked we are still ranked but our metrics are still pretty good. Time to go on one of those patented Brad Underwood late season runs and lock up a good seed.

I think at this point we are looking at no better than a 6 seed in any region, regardless of metrics. Even if we win out, 4 at the most, but that won't happen.

Not sure we are locked into no better than a 6 seed the first week of February with wars of attrition happening in the major conferences. But maybe so.

Most pre rankings I have seen have us around the 5-6 areas, several have us pitted against #12 Yale which I would not mind at all for a first round game.

If we can’t get to a 3 then give me a 6. Don’t want a 4-5.

ILLINI back in the Power Rankings at 25, Dain Dainja got a nice mention and has been playing very well also. Good for him. 17pts 7 rebs a game as of late.

Ended back in the Top 25 again at the end of the season!!

We are in a very good spot going into the B1G and the NCAA!!

Ironically out of the also receiving votes, Akron made, and there will be as many as 6 teams from that group with new head coaches next year!
