So I was watching through the door from the bathtub, but it looked like ND got 3 3rd down chances?
-
Maybe 3 4th downs, don't know. But they marched right down the field.

Jesus is taking it up the ass

Catholics vs convicts round 3

Jesus put up a better fight than I thought he would. Attempting to kick FG in 4th was dumb. It was too late for them to be conservative.

Bad day for Jesus all around. No justice in this world for Fauci, the Biden Crime Family, or the Jan 6th Insurrectionists!

Looks like the Bear dodged a bullet with decision making like that.

That's funny

Next to zero chance they were going to punch in a TD on 4th and 9 or whatever. I thought it made sense to “take the points”

At some point you had to assume Kelly and Day would take their heads out of their asses in the 4th quarter, which they did, which is why they needed the TD.

And even less of a chance they were going to completely dominate the best team in the country for the entire 4th quarter and score 3x in a row, the next two needing to be touchdowns. They were lucky to even get the ball back a 3rd time.
If you’re playing Navy or Northern, I’m ok with it. You’re playing the most explosive team in the nation, and a superior opponent than you for all the marbles. Even if you fail to get the TD, you’re gonna need two touchdowns regardless.
-
If you get the TD there, winning becomes pretty realistic. Even with a FG you need a near miracle.
-
Down 16 to OSU with a little more than half a quarter to go, any room to be conservative was not on the table for ND IMO.
If that’s late 3rd quarter, sure.
-
His explanation was meh. Saw on The SportsCenter that even the ND radio announcers were wondering WTF he was doing.
-
ND Scores 3x in a row (needing two TDS) with time a concern and hold OSU on two possessions (OSU scored 6x on 7 possessions).
Or…
Throw it in the end zone maybe get a TD, maybe a penalty. Get 2 pointer and make it a one score game with 8 minutes left.
Which sounds like the more realistic path?
-
It was a 1 score game with a little over 2 minutes left and tOSU was facing 3rd and 11.
They had plenty of time if they had gotten the stop.

That was more fortuitous than strategic. Kicking the field goa They still had to score 3 times and hold OSU scoreles twice that just was not going to happen.
-
Missing the field goal benefited them more than it hurt them.
-
Call it whatever you want. It was a 1 score game with over 2 min left and tOSU looking at 3rd and 11.

Again, it was more luck than strategery. Missing the FG did not hurt them as it put OSU deep in their own territory.

Could have just thrown it into the end zone incomplete and had the same outcome.
