I’m going out on a limb here. I going with the Bears to pull the big upset. They’ve played Detroit very well the last 3x and they have always owned Goff going back to his Rams years. Cold and windy. If the Bears can contain their run game they can pull off a shocker. Bears 23-20
-
Wow!
Detroit's depleted defense could make things interesting.
Will Sweat play in 75% of the defensive plays?
Will the Bear get any 1st quarter or 1st half first downs or points?
-
I’m gonna get wild and say they score 13 points in the 1st half. On the back of a pick 6 or fumble return…

https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2024/12/20/rest-of-nfl-was-right-about-bears-offensive-line-which-is-their-most-glaring-deficiency
The Bears have used one first-round pick on the line and have spent the second-least salary-cap money in the league.
Among the linemen on the top 10 units, 26 were first- or second-round picks by their current team, and six were major trade or free-agent pickups, typically veterans who made at least one Pro Bowl.
The Bears, meanwhile, tried to be clever.

No and no

The Bears spent a top 10 pick on an OL and they didn’t have any 1st rounders his first year. They drafted the top QB prospect in a decade with another pick and gave him a WR who might have been the first WR off the board in some years. They also had a recent 2nd round pick at OL and one of their bigger FA investments at RG. They drafted 4 OL in their first draft (despite starting the draft with only 5 picks, none 1sts). They got a pretty serviceable LT in his first draft in the 5th round.
-
There are other positions to fill other than just OL, especially when you blew up the previous roster because it sucked, was old, and overpaid.
-
The best Tackle prospect in the last draft was already gone, and he isn’t even playing LT on his team.

It appears that the roster still sucks and has overpaid players too.

Yes, it’ll be the most coveted job because the roster sucks.

It appears to be attractive solely due to Williams. Both lines need enemas.

Lol

Lol
None of the articles on this subject have mentioned the "roster." They all mention "Williams.'
-
He’s definitely the centerpiece. But there’s more to work with than just that.

That no one mentions because it isn't true. Even the secondary has fallen off the cliff since Brisker went down.

You could link to something that mentions the roster and not just Williams as being attractive for the head job.

All-Pro CB. Solid defensive nucleus. Rome Odunze. DJ Moore. City of Chicago. Founding franchise. New stadium on the horizon
-
Gonna get crazy here and predict a big Bears L
-
New stadium on the horizon
Uh, like General Westmoreland in Vietnam, you can see the “light at the end of the tunnel"? LOL.
-
Let me know when DJ Moore agrees to run slant routes

Lol

Another response indicating you have no substantive response since Lazy Rich DJ Moore refuses to run slant routes.

Another occasion where you talk out of your ass since your ridiculous take is difficult to prove false.

I guess he stopped when he got rich? I also think it’s impressive that PAMan knows the plays that Thomas Brown is calling and asking them to run. I was not aware that PAMan was in the WR room during meetings and on the sideline next to the HC.

According to this, 11% of his routes were slant routes (at this time earlier in the season). A lot of screens and outs, which sounds about right.

Did not mention the roster. Mentioned Williams and cap space and allegedly breaking ground on a new stadium in a year (LOL).
-
Have 1st and 5 and end up 3rd and 11…
-
Then 4th and 20…
-
And now 4th and 25…
-
Jonathon Vilma thinks the roster is good to go.....
-
1st punt today with 535 to go in 4th.....the defense is close to thinking about thinking about being Elite.
-
How did the cap space do today ?

How did the cap space do today ?
Improving as there will be more guys to cut!

Not as difficult as I thought.
-

Yeah, video of him running slants the past few months probably are not all over the internet.
-
How did the cap space do today ?
Is this supposed to be clever?

And extra draft capital. You think that’s a win for you? You’re the guy crying no one desirable will be interested in the job.
-
Is this supposed to be clever?
The question was already answered. I'm being told it's improving.
What's your take ?
-
Yeah, video of him running slants the past few months probably are not all over the internet.
Because he does not run them
-

Yes. "Roster" not mentioned. Getting new guys mentioned because the roster sucks.

I watched about 15 seconds of the game.

Tempo's Yale Lineman Guy a healthy scratch today....
https://www.bleachernation.com/bears/2024/12/22/bears-inactives-wk-16-2024/
The only surprise among the list of Bears inactive players is offensive lineman Kiran Amegadjie. Six days ago, Amegadjie was the team’s starting left tackle who was thrust into the starting lineup in a pinch. But fast forward to game day and the Yale product is a healthy scratch. That feels telling about how the Bears feel about the rookie right now.
-
How many snaps did Cheeto Eating Lazy Sweat play today?
-
Because he does not run them
You’ve already been proven wrong in this thread.

As he probably should be. Kid was a project and not supposed to play right away. Didn't put on pads till like a month ago (no preseason, no camp).
-

Where? He doesn't run them and no one has said the roster is the reason the job is attractive
-
Yes. "Roster" not mentioned. Getting new guys mentioned because the roster sucks.
No one is gonna want this job, wahhhh!!!

Ummm, go back and look.

LOL. Love to know what they consider a slant since he has not run one since he's been here. They never ran them because Fields could not throw them and William's has not thrown one either
-
Who cares. It’s lose out time.
Because it impacts cap space because Poles is a shithead.

You are the one claiming people are saying the roster is attractive. That isn't true.

Fields never threw one. Even you were wondering why they weren't. Williams hasn't either.

I am questioning the veracity of that given we have not seen one thrown for years at this point.
-

Go find something else to do. Not going to argue this nonsense with you. Lots of people have said the roster has a good nucleus of players. Don’t bother responding because you’re not getting another response on your drivel.

The roster fucking sucks. Like Your Guys Fields, Poles, and Eberlose!

Forgive me if I don’t ride with the observational powers and recall of the guy who said the Bears haven’t won more than 4 games in the Poles era.

Fair enough.
Though the failure to call slants when Fields was QB was a topic of discussion amongst us.
-
They didn’t throw many, true. And it was a source of aggravation for me.
-

One of the best passes I saw Fields throw was a slant to Moore

Because it was intercepted by the Viking?
It must have been the only one in 3 years.

😂 It was a complete pass.
A quick decision and threw a bullet.

How many snaps did Cheeto Eating Lazy Sweat play today?
41 of 65. 63%. What a bust. Of course Tempo loves him!
-
Tempo, question for you: How many games do you think that Bear offense has gotten through the "scripted" plays in the 1st quarter? I'm guessing not many. May be part of the issue with the offense?
-
No clue

Wondering if poor scripted plays are a problem.
