We should find out a lot about our coaching staff today. If the Bears have a good game plan and play smart I think they can make a game of this and maybe even win.
Waldron is going to have to be a lot better than week 1. I thought he was atrocious last week. Truly Luke Getsy 2.0 like. No more shotgun and empty backfields on 2nd and 3rd and short. Less misdirection. Why run it if you can’t execute it. I heard the Bears top 5 offensive skill players were only on the field 10 snaps together. That is inexcusable.
Heart wants to pick the Bears, but I’ll say 27-23 Bears. Not getting clowned will be a successful evening.
-
No way in hell after what we saw last week, will this Bears offense keep up with the Texans offense. I hope I’m wrong, but I have absolutely nothing to base that happening on so far.
-
First week is often a shit show. Week 2 is when you start finding out about your team. No one plays in preseason anymore. Actual starters actually have some game action under their belts.
-
I’m not saying the Bears can win a shootout, they won’t. But if they can win the turnover battle they can make it a good game.
-
My bad, forgot PAMan started a Bears/Titans thread.
-
Bring back Hank Williams Jr.
-
Alright, let’s see if the Bears are ready for the big stage. Again, should find out a lot about our coaches tonight.
-
FGs are getting too easy.
-
Hit a 56 yarder like it was a chip shot.
-
Caleb in a nice early rhythm
-
Camera doink 😂
-
Caleb in a nice early rhythm
That was a night and day difference from week 1. Sack on 3rd down all too familiar, though.
-
Gordon should not be on Nico. Jaylon should be.
-
If Billings had been looking for the ball that might be a pick.
-
Was so obvious that was coming when the Bears put 9 guys on the nose.
-
Haha Bears got away with one there. Be smart Stevenson.
-
Need to hold to a FG after that penalty
-
Need to hold to a FG after that penalty
Nope
-
Well never mind…
-
This has the makings of a shoot out. Caleb's gonna have to do some growing up fast.
-
Collins said penalty, what?! I’ll just make it up with a TD next play…
-
Collins is a beast.
-
More side to side bullshit…
-
We’re still horseshit on 3rd down. Same as last 10 years.
-
I wonder how many 3rd downs we’ve seen the last 3 years that never had a chance one the ball was snapped.
-
Is fucking Lovie doing challenges again? WTF
-
Stevenson's ass is getting cooked
-
Surprised they didn't go for it since they are getting whatever they want vs Eberflus vaunted defense
-
How do the Bears keep putting out shitty offensive lines regime after regime? The trenches are kinda important too, ya know.
-
Poles said evaluating OL was his greatest strength. That claim seems dubious.
-
Need a big defensive play.
-
About time we put Stroud on his ass.
-
OMG a sack!!!!!
-
Big drive here…
-
Finally have some momentum.
-
Easy PI call
-
Herbert scores the Bears first offensive TD in 2024
-
That’s what I’m talking about. Bears took some punches and show they have what it takes to take this to later rounds.
-
Playing tough and hanging in there.
-
Fucking penalty on the kickoff and might lead to 3 point before half. Shake my head
-
Credit to the kicker. He got all of that. Nothing anyone can do there.
-
That’s unfairbairn.
-
Bears are hanging in there with a rookie QB making his 2nd start vs an AFC contender on the road.
Williams is playing well and has just about totaled his passing yardage output from last week. The offensive line has not held up their end of the bargain to say the least.

-
Fuck. You gotta hit those.
-
Gotta make Houston pay when we get a shot like that…
-
Way too easy for Stroud and Collins on the slant. Too much cushion by our DB’s
-
Got lucky there that Dell dropped that. Whew…
-
Bullet dodged. That may have been 6.
-
Catch the fucking punt you asshole!
-
Side to side bullshit. Fucking stop it!!! 😡
-
That’s a late hit!
-
Defense stepping up. They’re playing well enough to win this game.
-
Two personal foul penalties they didn’t call on Texans. Should’ve been thrown out of the game for that punch.
-
Nico Collins is eating us alive…
-
D has been holding up but for how much longer?
-
Huge hit!
-
That might be all she wrote
-
Our star-studded offense kinda sucks.
-
Need points on this drive or it’s over.
-
Head to head not called.
-
That ball should have never been thrown
-
Head to head not called.
Yeah I thought that too…
-
Horrible playcalling on offense once again
-
Struggling to find anything complimentary to say about our offense.
-
Bears still have a sliver of hope
-
Big turnover! Let’s go offense, need a good drive here.
-
At least show some life…
-
Longest run of the game and of course it's by the QB
-
At least show some life…
Agreed. Make it interesting and show some fight.
-
Why are the Bears NEVER able to pick up a blitz?
-
Holy shit this OL is so fucking bad! They just rush 5 and we’re fucked.
-
Saved by the flag again
-
Why is our Oline getting worse? These guys should be starting to gel as a unit.
-
Williams might be dead after this game…
-
Moore doesn't look real happy
-
This team would be a lot better if they kept Fields and spent money on the O line. But hey now we get to ruin Caleb Williams and be bad at the same time!
-

Short-term for sure. But playing the long-game can burn you, it wasn’t that long ago the Sox looked like a budding dynasty.
-
We’ve got a shot!
-
It can all be fixed on this drive!
-
Why is Everett in and not Kmet?!
-
Didn't expect a win tonight. Defense did what they could to give them a chance tonight.
Some good, some bad, some ugly from Caleb Williams. Life of a rookie QB. He has to be better for sure but he needs help from his o-line and running game. It's a lot to ask of a rookie QB making his second career start to try and superman his team to a win on the road against an AFC playoff team.
I was underwhelmed with the Waldron hire and he hasn't changed my mind at all two games in. Eberflus still sucks.
-
going to be a very long rookie year for Williams if his line can't figure out how to pick up a blitz or a simple line stunt
most of his shitty throws were after getting his ass kicked for most of the game
brutal

Everyone on the offensive line should be locked up for attempted murder. 36 fucking pressures on 37 attempts. How does that even happen? No QB alive stands a chance behind these bums.
-
If you had told me we’d have a chance to win with the ball and one minute left, I’d have probably taken that. Defense played pretty well. Gave up one TD and four very long FGs.
The offense sucks badly. The OLine is somehow worse. The scheme and play-calling look to lack creativity. It’s like Getsy never left. When plays are there to be made, Caleb often misses them. The rest of the game he’s getting blitzed and harassed far too easily and often. They are asking too much of him at this point. Having Keenan Allen might have helped, but who knows. I think we’ve made one trip into the red zone in 8 quarters? Not nearly good enough.
-
Don’t feel like we found out as much about the coaching as I thought we would. Flus made a few mistakes, but they kept it close. Death by a thousand paper cuts tonight. Waldron looks terrible so far.
-
What the fuck happened to Tyler Scott? Wasn’t he the breakout star of training camp?
-
Alright, let’s see if the Bears are ready for the big stage. Again, should find out a lot about our coaches tonight.
Should have listened to what ThePAMan at the door already told you about Eberlose.
-

It would be far better if Poles wasn't playing fantasy football and spent money and picks on the line instead of WRs.
-

It is all Williams' fault, just ask Tempo.
-
Can you imagine how bad this would be with this OL play and Fields' fumbling issues?
-

Why? Do you feel yesterday proved you right somehow?
-
Can you imagine how bad this would be with this OL play and Fields' fumbling issues?
Much better chance of winning that game with Fields. In fact, I think they do. That doesn’t mean Caleb won’t be the better QB in 2-3 years.
-
It is all Williams' fault, just ask Tempo.
Stop making shit up. I never said that. He’s getting next to no help. Just like Fields. Only this group should have less excuses.
-
No doubt there was a lot of pressure, but 36 of 37 doesn’t even sound believable.
-
It would be far better if Poles wasn't playing fantasy football and spent money and picks on the line instead of WRs.
He thinks his strength is evaluating OLine. That claim seems dubious at the moment. Thought he had the right guys. Also thought Claypool was worth a fuck, so no one’s perfect I guess.
-
Why? Do you feel yesterday proved you right somehow?
Yes. The line is even worse than it was last year. Meanwhile, draft pick WRs being inactive or not playing. Tell me again how Poles is a genius; You are still a Twotter Fucking Meathead.
-

This is fucking hilarious. It would be far worse with Fields fumbling and dropping snaps.
-

Yes, you did. You even just said they would be better this year with Fields even though there is zero way that is remotely true. No game manager like Fields is going to survive with how that line is playing. Plus Fields has proven to be a complete dumbass when it comes to decisionmaking.
-
He thinks his strength is evaluating OLine. That claim seems dubious at the moment. Thought he had the right guys. Also thought Claypool was worth a fuck, so no one’s perfect I guess.
Well, we know it is not drafting WRs like Scott and Jones. Or evaluating OL.
-
You’re roid raging again. I never once said this was Caleb’s fault. He’s failed to make some plays when they were there, but this is far from all his fault. I love how you expect each unit to be elite at all times. You expect the ‘07 Patriots on offense and ‘85 Bears on defense. Talk about playing fantasy football…
-
PAMan said the defense was “suspect” last night. They held arguably the best offense in the league to one TD and four super long FGs. The only guy to meet his yardage projection was Collins (this includes Stroud). And they did this on the road. The defense was good. The offense on the other hand…
-
And that was despite the offense putting them in bad spots repeatedly.
-

You are really going to sit here and say that the first half of both games the defense has been good?
-
Fantasy football is thinking you’re going to dominate the other team in all phases with regularity.
-
Yes. The line is even worse than it was last year. Meanwhile, draft pick WRs being inactive or not playing. Tell me again how Poles is a genius; You are still a Twotter Fucking Meathead.
Poles’ fault Keenan Allen is hurt.
-

Yes, you have. You have also said the offense would be better with Fields.
I expect the GM who had a shitload of cap room, which you mentioned many times last year, to use some of it to build an OL instead of doing Do Overs to cover his bad WR draft picks and trades.
-
Well, we know it is not drafting WRs like Scott and Jones. Or evaluating OL.
Again, fantasy football is thinking you’re going to hit on every draft pick.
-

No, fantasy football is thinking all you need is skilled position players....
-
Again, fantasy football is thinking you’re going to hit on every draft pick.
LOL. No it isn't, that's why you have a waiver wire in FF.
-
Poles’ fault Keenan Allen is hurt.
No, but it is Poles' fault the OL is bad.
-
Yes, I said the offense would be better off with Fields in the short-term. That isn’t the same thing as saying “it’s all Caleb’s fault.” Everything around Caleb has pretty much been trash. So he has that in common with Justin.
What’s been going on the last two games is far from all on Caleb. They are asking too much of him, too early.
-
No, but it is Poles' fault the OL is bad.
I’d like to know why they look even worse than last year. These are mostly young players who should be turning the corner. The line should
be at least average. That was a reasonable expectation going into the season.
-

If that was your expectation, fine. They then traded for 2 guys who were going to be cuts and they played the majority of the snaps game 1
-

Poles has shown he’s not going to overspend in FA. And so far that’s looked pretty prudent. Mike McGlinchey, anyone? Anyone still want that 87 million dollar contract?
-
The offense played like complete dogshit last night and they had a chance to beat a SB contender on the road in the last minute.
Not a win. Not all that pretty, but this is progress. No one outside of Beardom thought the Bears were winning that game. Most thought it would be a blowout.
-
Right now the Texans are 4th favorite in SB odds. Probably would be higher if not for the Chiefs being in the AFC.
-
If I’m a Bears beat reporter here’s the questions I’m asking:
1) What’s your offensive identity? What do you do well?
2) Why is the Oline struggling so bad, and what’s the plan to fix it?
3) Do you feel your personnel usage, playcalling, and scheme are putting your players in a position to succeed?
4) Where is Tyler Scott?
-
No, but it is Poles' fault the OL is bad.
I laughed out loud when Collinsworthless said last night that the bears offense is really missing keenan allen
like having him out there would do anything to help pick up a blitz or stunt from the dline lol
-

Haha yeah, I caught that too. I chuckled.
-

Maybe Allen blocks better than ND TE Boy
-
Rough game from the offense but overall, I think the Bears look like a 7-10 win team. Could obviously be wrong, but they hung tough with a really good team last night.
Too many dumb penalties (they'd have had a shot at a tying FG if not for the dumb kickoff penalty giving up yards at the end of the first half), bad timeout and challenge management, a bad offense and they had a chance to win against a team that'll probably be a 1-2 seed in the AFC playoffs.
-

I’m not saying his presence completely transforms the offense, but would the Texans be comfortable going so blitz heavy if it were an elite possession receiver like Allen vs Deandre Carter? This is a guy who put up almost 1300 yards last year and missed several games. It’s a matchup based game and Keenan Allen probably has an impact. Even if only a minor one.
-
I still think the Bears can be a 10 to 11 win team, but they definitely have some things to clean up.
-

Yes, they would have. You know why? This is not fantasy football and the Bear OL sucks due to GM Malpractice.
-
Okerrr…the NFL is a matchup based game. Keenan Allen is a different matchup from Deandre Carter.
Again, fantasy football is thinking you’ll dominate your opponents in every phase of the game, and thinking you’re going to hit on every draft pick. That’s fantasy football.

You're delusional. Its more likely you lose at least 10 games if not more. All the rest of the games below the Bears WILL be underdogs.
You play:
@Indy
Rams
Jags
@Arizona
Seattle
@49ers
Packers Twice
Lions Twice
Vikings Twice
The Offensive line is trash and not fixable this year. Even the Pats and Redskins will give you guys fits.
-
The Bears have already won more games this year than the first three teams you list combined. They were +6.5 last night at Houston and covered. You’re crazy.
-
If that Rams offensive line is still banged up, the Bears win that game easily IMO. I don’t think Indy is all that good. Bears own Jared Goff. There’s at least one win.
The offense has to get better, and soon.
-

Exactly. They almost beat a Super Bowl favorite on the road despite the offense being completely inept. Hopefully, the first two weeks is a low point for the offense.
-
That’s about as tough a game as the Bears will see all year, and they still had a shot with one minute left. A lot of stuff to clean up, though. The defense will keep them in most games. Have to get better at challenges. Reminded me of Lovie, out there.
-

LOL. You are nuts.
Fantasy football is stockpiling skilled offensive players. OL are not being drafted.
-

He’s drafted 5 or 6 OL in 3 years. Using a top 10 pick on 1.
-

I missed this one. FANTASY FOOTBALL is thinking you’re going to dominate every opponent in every phase at ALL times.

No, it isn't
