Goofers 27 Illini 17

Gofs defensive coordinator, Joe Rossi, is staying home with a positive PCR test. With a game tomorrow, that is the only news worth printing in today's fishwrap.
From yesterday's fishwrap, not much compared to the normal amount of game previews.

Other than the turnovers, I thought Coran Taylor played fairly well. Was it good enough for the 'he gives us the best chance for a win' decision makers to get the start ?

He made some good plays. I was even more impressed given he probably hasn't had many (if any) reps with the 1st team offense in the past. Tough situation to be put in. He probably got (or should get) most of those reps during practice this week. If so, that would help with his development.
As for turnovers, well, MSU played very well against Rutgers opening week other than the 7 turnovers.
-
Taylor managed to look competent at times and completely inept at others. Not surprising given the lack of experience and reps. He turned the ball over but was really close to turning it over a lot more than he actually did. Purdue played really soft coverage once they got the big lead and also made a bunch of awful boneheaded mistakes down the stretch that allowed Illinois to stay in it. Minnesota hasn’t looked good but I bet they look a lot better tomorrow.
-
Competent at times and inept at times typifies the qb play under Lovie.
Hopefully the mistakes can be corrected, but I thought he showed a better arm than what I remember seeing from Williams or Robinson.
It's just 1 game to go off tho.

From today's fishwrap. The gofs beat writer is picking the Illini. lol.

U-Verse is showing this one on an alternate BTN channel, so maybe 70-30 I actually get it.
-
I get it on Big10 alt channel.

Has a major conference football team ever finished a game with negative offensive yardage?
Just curious.
-

You're not missing anything good.

LOLillinois football. Never change.
-
Last year was a fluke. We still suck. Worst Defense in the B10. So sick of this shit
-
INDIANA has a good football team now. INDYFUCKINANA. And how many coaches have we gone through and we STILL can't put together any type of program that can finish above .500

It took a series of miraculous events against MSU just to become bowl eligible.
-
The college basketball season can't start soon enough.
-
Glad it wouldn’t work on YouTube TV. Ended up having a wonderful mostly stress free afternoon outside

Yep.
Long walk with Heather. Watched a gay couple drive around Urbana, waving a rainbow flag. Lots of smallish block parties where masked neighbors congregated somewhat distantly, and literally popped corks on bottles of bubbly.
71 degrees and sunny. It was good.
One of the gays is a blatino. His dad was locked up for two weeks in Texas because he didn't have his papers on him. The family lived in Texas before it was part of the US.
It reminds me that a lot of ignorant white people actually don't realize that the aboriginal Americans were here first. They don't realize that the white people came from somewhere else, as immigrants.
It's hard to quantify and/or qualify the level of stupidity.

Did JudgeJudy bet on the Illlini and its spectacular O and D lines?

If the family had been here that long why would he need papers?

Skin color, last name, Spanish accent.

I wonder if PJ left a copy for Lovie ?
“I read them a book, ‘Everyone Poops,’ ” Fleck recalled of the Friday team meeting before the Illinois game. “And I know that sounds crazy because we didn’t play very well, but poop can be used as fertilizer if you grow. And in Minnesota, we’ve got lots of farms, and the poop is actually the manure, and it can help with crops and the best fruit and vegetables.”
“It’s not just a children’s book, you know, those children’s books have a message,” Bateman said of Fleck’s choice in literature. “And everybody thinks that they’re just for young kids, but it doesn’t matter your age. Of all ages, you read that book, and there’s a message in there for everybody.
“And Coach Fleck does a good job of pulling that message out of the book and spreading it to our team and to apply it on the field and in our lives.”

I’m so glad we get dong whipped by that guy every year
-
Maybe Fleck can even decipher a coherent message out of JudgeJudy's posts here.

Let’s call this “A Really Sad Story About Mean People Like Donald Trump”. Lots of self-loathing people on the left have them and most of them aren’t based in reality. The Latinos showed up big time here in FL and also there in TX where this kind of thing is happening? This persons anecdote doesn’t pass the sniff test.

Yeah, I mean what's two weeks in jail when you're given the opportunity to pay $142,000,000 to fly a guy to his golf courses every four days?
Those 545 kids can find foster parents or something.
But you're wrong about the Latinos. They are not the same as the Cubanos. The Cubanos voted for an authoritarian because they loathe a dictator.
