After many years of heartbreak, Illinois makes the Sweet 16 and we should savor the moment. I don't want to say the program has been cursed, but we have a long, tortured history of underperforming in the tournament. Our Final Four teams (1989 and 2005) were #1 seeds and favored, so even those ended up leaving a bitter taste.
We have played to our seed, and it's house money now. There's no shame if we lose to higher seeded Iowa State or UConn, but I like our chances. After watching us demolish Duquesne, they can't be happy about the prospect.

This sounds very similiar for some reason....

Should be a very good-great game. IF, IF, IF, we rebound to the tune of 35-45 (depending on shooting % of course), and we get points in the paint early and often, we win this game.
Iowa State just stole a player from Wisky (TSJ size) 6'6" and 210 out of the same high school as Haliburton went too.

It’s been a good year. A trip to the Elite 8 makes it a great year.
