11 am on big ten network
Purdue 24 Illini 13
-
If by 24 you mean 44, then I agree
-
Odds I saw were Illini +7.5 o/u 59.
-
Lots of money flowing to Purdue

Rondale Moore now going to be playing ?
-
I think it’s because the line opened smaller than expected considering Illinois got mauled and Purdue beat Iowa

I think PU has been fairly competitive with xxxx the last few years. We beat PU last year and its a home game for us.
Moore should be worth a few points, and no one knows why he sat last week.

Probably something related to Joe Biden making people disappear.

This is generally an opponent that Purdue has done well against, especially in Champaign. In addition to the four straight wins over there Purdue has won six of the last seven and nine of the last eleven.
uh, ok.

So which Illini allegedly have The COVID? Keep reading that people are on The Twitter claiming that it has happened.

If it's true, we'll find out tomorrow. lol.
-
Peters announced on GameDay as having COVID.
Fuck.
Purdue by 28.
-
Peters and TE Moore out 21 days. Others may be sidelined today due to contact tracing.
Robinson gets the start ? And Williams gets a lot of time ?
Or does Williams start and hope for the best ?
-
This is all so stupid

Williams (and others) are ruled out for contact tracing
It’s the Matt “Matty Ice” Robinson show

Probably Rod Smith's preference anyway. Call a bunch of incomplete pass plays so the defense gets a lot of playing time.
Kramer out too. Geeeeeez

So Illinois to play today when Wisconsin bales early on Nebraska. We just do not care about football....

We didn't want to give up the gate receipts, and concession sales.
-
Oh we don’t have McCourt either lmao this is fucking absurd
-
That's a takeaway.
-
This is like watching bad HS football

Might be a good time to run tests on every man, woman and child on the sidelines and see if the “no contest” is in play
-
Nice job with the current stats.

Yet another game that's there for the taking and no one wants to bother.
-
31-24 with 6 1/2 to go.
-
Taylor has been ok at times but we win easily with Peters.
-
Throw it short of the first on 4th down. Matt Nagy special.
-
Damn it. They could have had this.
-
Give em credit. Had a chance. Ain't over yet tho.
Taylor threw some nice passes for a guy who hasn't played.
-
Brohm paying homage to Matt Nagy with his clock management
-
Purdue did everything they could to give us the game and Illinois like nahhh

Illini clearly going for the 1st pick in the, uh, draft. ;D
-
Taylor 17-29 and 300 yards total offense. We outgained them, ran more plays, same number of first downs, had more time of possession in 2nd, 3rd, and 4 quarters, had fewer penalties.
A win would have been nice.

So, what is the explanation for the Illini playing today when Wisconsin was able to cancel its game with Nebraska under, basically, similar circumstances?
-
They had an exponentially greater number of positives.

So, what is the explanation for the Illini playing today when Wisconsin was able to cancel its game with Nebraska under, basically, similar circumstances?
It's all in the numbers .....
And the numbers include staff etc. I think Wisco was based on 170 individuals and the testing.
"Team positivity rate is described as the “number of number of positive COVID-19 tests divided by total number of tests administered.”
If the team positivity rate is between 0% and 2%, that’s considered in the “green” range. Between 2% and 5% is the “orange” range, and any percentage greater than 5% is considered the “red” range.
Big Ten officials define population positivity rate and the “number of COVID-19 positive individuals divided by the total population at risk."
If the population positivity rate is between 0% and 3.5%, that’s considered in the “green” range. Between 3.5% and 7.5% is the “orange” range, and any percentage greater than 7.5% is considered the “red” range.
Conference officials will use these green, orange and red categories to determine when to alter or shut down practices and games for each team.
If a team is in the green range for both statistics or in the green for one and orange for the other, they can continue practices and games as normal."

The Badgers could have played though. They were not at Red/Red. Sounds to me like WI used a loophole not to play due to their QB situation whereas Whitman refused to do so:
Why is Saturday’s canceled game at Nebraska a no contest if the Badgers aren’t at “red/red” levels?
Because UW’s decision was based on its COVID-19 testing numbers, the game is considered a no contest and won’t be counted on either team’s record.
Big Ten protocols state that games are considered no contests if they’re canceled due to a program reaching what has been called “red/red” levels. Those levels are defined as a seven-day rolling average of a team’s positivity rate over 5%, and a seven-day rolling average of a team population positivity rate over 7.5%
UW officials have stated that the Badgers are at “orange/red” levels, meaning they have an average team positivity rate between 2-5% and an average team population positivity rate over 7.5%.
Per Big Ten protocols, a program must “proceed with caution and enhance COVID-19 prevention” and “consider viability of continuing with scheduled competition” if it reaches “orange/red” levels. Alvarez said UW decided to pause its team activities and cancel the Nebraska game to stop the spread of the virus and “get their arms around it.”

Wisconsin actually cares about winning unlike the dipshits at Illinois

This....

We had players sit due to contact tracing. They're out the 10 days from what I read.
The Wisco article doesn't mention players held out due to contact tracing.
The conference guidelines dont appear to mention contact tracing in the guidelines.
If players sit due to tracing, it seems as tho it should be included in the decision making process.

Badger-Purdue cancelled.
