Looks like Fields watched Bagent's film and Getsy calling great plays!
-
Bagent would have scored 10 points on that drive and taken -3 sacks.
-
Stevenson does something!
-
Goff intercepted!
-
Damn! Off to a good start I would say
-
Stevenson does something!
He’s going to be good. Rookie CBs usually struggle.
-
A few nights ago on CBS radio I heard a heavily accented Uber driver predict the Bears will go 7-0 to end the season. so far looking good! lol
-
Getsy is a poor play caller. That 2nd and 3 should have been a deep ball.
-
I would have ran it on 4th and 1 but that works.
-
Number 62 on bears for destroyed thanks to fields not being able to make a accurate throw
lol wut
-
Not even close on that deep ball.
-
How nice of Jasn to join us on Bears gameday
-
Getsy is a terrible play-caller. Not sure he’s ever had two good series in a row.
-
I think Getsy doesn’t call enough downhill run plays and that hamstrings his offense.
-
TWO turnovers? Who the hell are these guys?
-
Can we get some off tackle run plays, please Getsy?
-
Fucking bullshit shotgun run plays. FML
-
Hot potato
-
Of course a dropped pick 6 turns into a Lions TD
-
That won't help Johnson's case for getting a huge contract.
-
What an effort from Moore and Fields got rid of it just in time.
-
This team clearly has a lot of non QB needs. Cant block up a run play to save their lives. Need more pass rushers, and another big time receiver. And need a new OC.
-
Swiss Cheese defense being played this drive.
-
JFC. Pretty well controlled the entire first half and you are down 14-10.
I think a lot of this is on Getsy. He can’t call a game for shit.
-
Thumb clearly bothering Fields. There’s nothing on half his throws. Especially the deeper ones
-
We definitely need a center. This is horrible…
-
Another turnover!
-
We definitely need a center. This is horrible…
At least he has the required Center’s mullet.
-
Still pissed Jalon didn’t make that pick 6. That was a 14 point swing. You want elite money, Jalon? Make that play.
-
Jones shouting "I can't fucking see". He's fucking pissed.
-
Beautiful throw from Fields to Moore…
-
The connection that we were all excited for. That was fucking beautiful.
-
Still a bit sick to my stomach. Bears should be up double digits
-
Still a bit sick to my stomach. Bears should be up double digits
I’m good with playing well like this and losing this year.
-
4 turnovers. Seriously, who the hell are these guys on defense?
-
Another short yardage fail
-
Sweat sighting in a big way!
-
Good drive by Getsy....and Fields!
-
Damn, Jason’s post got deleted
-
Let Eddie Jackson go, fuck him. And Jaylon isn’t getting what he’s asking.
-
I really think the Bears are purposely trying to lose 😂
-
Sweat was invisible the last 2 drives when they needed him....
-
Bears seriously purposely let them fucking win.
-
The Bears are who we thought they were. A trash team.
-
Obligatory "Bagent could have done that."
-
Is da soul crushing loss good for da draft pick?
-
Can’t remember when I saw a choke job that bad.

Can’t remember when I saw a choke job that bad.
It was purposeful

Lulz I wish that were true
-
Can’t remember when I saw a choke job that bad.
You have your pick of Illini games this year to choose from
-
Packers won to move us up in the draft order…
-
Jaylon Johnson lost some money today.
-
It was purposeful
Yes, they told Sweat to do jack squat those last 2 series..
-
Jaylon Johnson lost some money today.
He sure should have.
Can't even blame Fields for this one.
-
You see how easy the first score was before the game winning one? Yeah they let them waltz in there.
-
Giants won too. Good day. Next year the Bears can start playing in my opinion
-
Pretty obvious Justin Fields isn’t the primary problem.
-
Pretty obvious Justin Fields isn’t the primary problem.
They certainly do not appear to trust him
-
Would have won if Bagent played.
-
They certainly do not appear to trust him
LMAO
-
LMAO
You can laugh all you want while you complain about them taking the ball out of his hands there.
-
You see how easy the first score was before the game winning one? Yeah they let them waltz in there.
What the hell happened the last minute? Wasn't on TV here.
Typical crap football in Illinois.
-
If this is one loss closer to getting Eberloser the fuck out of town then that's a win for me.
-

You missed Sweat not getting anywhere near Goff on the last drive.

Yep. All his fault they lost.

Never said that, but they paid him to be a difference maker and he disappeared

Overpaid him and for him.

I love that you’ve made that conclusion in a 3 game time span. One where he had 8 pressures, the most by a Bear in 4 years. And then had a big sack (probably in the 4th quarter today). He’s a good player. He’s not a first-ballot HOFer. Lawrence Taylor had games in which he didn’t dominate.
-
He didn’t make a play that won the game for us when I wanted him to the most. He’s an overpaid bust. - ThePAMan
-
You’d think a guy named Sweat would have play a little harder !

Where was the pass rush the last 2 series? You paid this guy a shit load of money to be a difference maker, not just a good player. So far, one sack, and that was where he was not blocked at all. He was invisible when you needed someone to step up, as the Lions were slicing and dicing the defense. But yeah, it is all Getsy's fault the Bear D gave up consecutive drives to end the 4th quarter.
There is tons to criticize Getsy over. But where is the criticism of the D Coordinator for falling asleep in the last half of the 4th quarter?
This was the only loss since 1932 for a team with 40 min TOP and +3 in turnovers....yeah, great job by the D and Sweat there.
-

He's overpaid for just being a good player. He's a bust if you expected him to be a difference maker.
-

1932 ? I figured it wasn't easy to do. Add that to franchise records for losses and home losses on the resumes.
-
Dominate TOP 40-19
Generate 4 takeaways.
270 combined yards from your starting QB
Critical clock-eating drive late in the 4th
All that and the Bears being the shit team they are still found a way to lose.

That 76 second drive was just the worst. Was texting Tempo that the Bear drive before that where they got the FG was a great drive for Fields, and Getsy, as they ate clock and made it a 2 score game. Then boom.

Eberflus continues to make history for all the very wrong reasons. But hey Belichick threw some praise at him so, hang a banner.

Maybe a Belichick Cultire Banner can be worked into The Tempo Alter.

😂 I knew that was coming from you!

PAMan is hysterical. Of course the defense was horrible down the stretch. I never once said they were blameless. They deserve most of the blame. But we aren’t firing any players and we aren’t firing Eberflus (until the season is over). We could follow the lead of the Bills who fired their offensive coordinator and went out and shredded a very good Jets defense this week. It’s time for a new play-caller on offense. Getsy sucks ass, and he’s the best sacrificial lamb.
-

Just trying to keep things in perspective. 😂

LOL. How unhinged. Yea, fire him after 40+ minutes of TOP and the defense blows a double digit lead in the last, what, 5 or 6 minutes of the game because Fields refused to keep the ball on a option one of the last 3 plays before the 2 Min Warning?
The Cult is certainly filled with idiots.

Oh, you are loving this new narrative. I bet you woke up hard this morning.
-

The only narrative being destroyed is the one that Getsy tried to keep the ball out of Fields' hands in crunch time. He had an option read and a bomb called those last 2 plays before the 2 Min Warning.

You should listen to Olin’s segment on Mully and Haugh this morning. Great stuff. Talked about the relationship that John Harbaugh has with Lamar. If you want Fields to be your guy, you have to empower him.
Also, Bernstein and Holmes made a great point just now. Herbert didn’t look like himself. Lacked his usual burst. Why wasn’t Roschon in there? I’m not sure if Foreman was available after tweaking his ankle.

Getsy designed a play that resulted in a FG and burned some clock. Extend him now. Literally no one thinks Getsy is good at his job, yet here you are defending him.

Listen to the Olin clip.

I am defending him from the absurd notion that he took the ball out of Fields' hands that series.

He's the guy who says Whitehair is good...

Dude, you can’t slap his dick to your face enough! “The FG drive, though!” 😍

Was good. Said a few weeks ago Father Time catches up with everyone. At one time, Cody was good.
-

Was a good drive. Ate clock and put them up by 2 scores. Unfortunately $weat decided, along with the rest of the D and Eberlose, to take the rest of the game off.
-

The play calls were generic as fuck outside of the 3rd down. Dude can’t take advantage of mismatches consistently to save his life. Getsy sucks and everyone knows it. I never saw/heard Twitter and radio more united on a Bears topic in my life.
-

Read option was generic? What did you want them to do right there? Detroit was going to have everyone in the box to stop the run. Odds are Eberlose told Getsy to run so Det would use its TOs.
Frankly, I was shocked they threw the ball, much less threw the ball long, on 3rd down.
-
You are hyper focused on the 2nd to last drive, which was bad enough; but as I’ve pointed out many times I thought Getsy’s play-calling sucked for a large part in the middle of the game, and far too often just sucks in general. Dude will pop off a 36 yard pass play then run it up the gut the next 4x. There isn’t a single person who thinks he’s good at his job, so stop messaging his peepee.

I am hyper focused on that drive since you texted me links from The Twitter nerds specifically complaining about that drive....
I agree he sucks and needs to go. But at least get the rationale right for it.
-
Yes, running up the gut twice against 10 men in the box when the line wasn’t opening holes to begin with probably wasn’t good play-calling is such a hot take.

Neither would have been running Fields off tackle.
One of the plays was a read option that Fields could have bounced outside.
You wanted them to throw the ball with 10 men in the box I take it?

Not slam it into the 10 man box twice in a row for 1 yard (results matter). Maybe call one of the designed runs outside the tackle.
Obviously, if Herbert gets two 10 yard gains no one is complaining. That didn’t happen, though.

Well, according to the coaches, there was no outside run to be had as Fields made the right call on the option play. So that would not have worked to run outside the tackle.
Basically, your only option at that point was to throw the ball, risking an incompletion and Det not needing to use its TOs.

So our completely incompetent in every way coaches said they did the right thing? Big fan of your debate tactics.

I would not have trusted Fields to throw the ball either.
-
Maybe try a pitch out?
With the outside covered, as Eberlose claimed?
-
I would not have trusted Fields to throw the ball either.
If they're really showing 10 freaking guys in the box, you have to throw against it. Lol, it's not complicated.
-
I would not have trusted Fields to throw the ball either.
And you’d be a loser coach like Getsy and Eberflus. “Keep playing it safe, because it almost never works!”
-

The inside looked pretty well covered, too.
-
Fields’ passer rating in his last 4 games is like 115-120. But don’t trust him! Because “4th quarter!”
-
If they have that many people up there, and you don't throw past it and get a touchdown, then you're retarded.
If there were really 10 fucking guys in the box, selling out totally to stop the run, then yes, that's a coaching failure. A Pop Warner quarterback throws a touchdown pass in that instance.
Of course, if there aren't really 10 guys in there...
-
May have been 9. It was at least 9. I may have counted 10, don’t remember for sure.

Interesting math.

That's 8. 3 backers and 5 on the line. the 2 on the outside are outside of the tackle box, and are covering receivers.
So, an 8 man box.
-
Guessing they had a guy playing centerfield.
-
Guessing they had a guy playing centerfield.
That's not in the box. Has to be closer to the LOS to be considered playing in the box. The guy playing centerfield is playing pass. The 8 in the box are strictly playing run.
They're definitely playing the run. But they're also guarding against the pass. 1 has the outside tight end (they're double tight on the right side) if he comes out, they guy on top (25?) has whoever is split out (Moore?). Backers are filling gaps, not dropping back at all.
I would have motioned Kmet, 1 probably would have followed him, then countered to the side Kmet vacated. Instead of running up the middle into the backers. But hey, that's just me.
-
Hmmm, so running it was still stupid based on that picture?
-

You can still run it, if you get it blocked up.

Yes and yes
-
That's not in the box.
No. Shit.
-
They had 9 in the box, 1 with proximity to the box and probably one guy guarding against anyone getting loose.

You busy the next 6 weeks? Maybe reach out to Flus?
-
Alright, 8.5. That’s 10 guys close to the line of scrimmage 8 in the box 2 just outside the hash marks, tighter than you’d normally see. Still tough to run dead into when you haven’t been opening holes most of the day.
-

Yes. Thats why you don’t run up the middle into it.
There were 8 guys in the box. Stop exaggerating to make a point.
-
Lol
There were a shit ton of guys near the LOS.
Wanna nitpick that one?
Keep nitpicking, even though you seem to agree slamming Herbert into it wasn’t the smart choice.
-

You’ve been on here for the last 24 hours bitching about Getsy and his play calling. I come on and look at a pic and say, yeah, 8 in the box, tough to run on but here’s what I would do. And you come back with this shitty comment.
You really are an asshole. You just can’t help yourself.
-
Of course, lost in the nitpick is that the Bears invited all those guys to the LOS by lining up 8 linemen showing a pretty obvious run play.
-

I do agree. I’m just saying it was an 8 man box. It was hard to run on. I at least came up with what I would have done if i ran.
I’m motioning Kmet, if he was followed across that tells you it’s man coverage. Have kmet get inside leverage on him and make a play. If zone, have kmet drop behind the backers, in front of the safety, make a play. Kelce runs that route all the time.
-
I was actually trying to compliment your comment, but go on.
Lol. I didn’t take it like that. My apologies if true.
-
I’m about half serious when I say I’d rather have you call plays than Getsy.
-
Who could change the play at the line of scrimmage to create motion ?
The wr at the top could have motioned to the near side too.

If it was a read option, which it sounds like it was, the option to pass isn’t there. I’m guessing Fields was reading the end. If the end crashes, he keeps it. If he doesn’t, he gives it. The end didn’t crash, so he handed it off. Problem is if you don’t get on the backer, the play blows up.

The QB should change the call to get some motion. Make the defense move and adjust. Do something.
The offense was stacked too tight.
