Title: Why Not Practice FT and 3p Way More at Practice?
Post by: Beach Bum on November 10, 2023, 11:54:29 PM
SSIA.

Seems like more emphasis should be put on these aspects but what do I know, besides following this team long before many current followers and actually have watched Illinois play in sweet sixteens before.

If I were you I’d use my alumni directory to send Josh Whitman an email and encourage him to mention it to the staff!

They need an effective shooting coach.

Some of these guys look like junior high kids with their form. It's embarrassing for the program.
Dainja is worse this year. I am not even sure what hand he is actually using to shoot FTs.
Rodgers has not taken anything but a layup or line drive 4 foot floater in 2 years.

This team has zero pure shooters with great mechanics.
Goode and DGL are closest.

Pretty sure you weren't the only one here that was alive in 2005.

83% on free shots. Looks like Underachiever took your advice, Beach Bum.

I see that we have NOT been practicing these since I started the thread.

Looks like we've been weightlifting a lot though so maybe that's good.

Not good enough since Harris is redshirting so he can work out.

Bardo said if they shot free throws poorly Henson had them run first; then practice shooting free throws. That simulated game conditions - stressed, tired.

Pissed? Punitive use of exercise?
