I apologize for the new thread, but I really wanted some fresh discussion lol
In this age of binge watching our favorite shows, everyone wants to jump to conclusions that Fields is a wash out. Obviously, I am still hopeful that he can be the long-term starter. If Fields comes back and plays 8 games and 5 of them are really good should we move on? I don’t see why.
Bagent was excellent for what they asked him to do. It was also one of the better defensive (and all around) performances for the Bears in several years. They were playing Brian Hoyer at home. The Bears should have been favorites.
I’m sure we all remember when Deron broke his jaw, and then when he came back he was at an all new level. Hopefully Justin learns a couple valuable lessons after sitting a couple/three weeks and takes off.
I don’t see the point in trading him for a 3rd or 4th rounder. I’d much rather let it play out. He’s shown us a very high ceiling at times. If you get a 1st or high 2nd, ok, that’s worth something. But I don’t think we should be in a huge rush to replace Justin. That doesn’t mean they can’t have options on the table.

Hopefully a few weeks off is the reset button that Justin needed.

You’re fucking obsessed, man…

The Bears defense played their 3rd good game in a row. No chatter about that at all. Justin Fields is the only thing that moves the needle. Especially when it comes to Bears talk here.
Even Bagentmania is underwhelming.

Everyone is always low-balling.

I don’t think anyone wants to jump to conclusions that he’s a wash out. Any reasonable Bears fan (teehee) understands that it’s in the best interest of the team and franchise if he’s the guy.
Unfortunately it’s the eyeball test, lack of trust from the coaches, and consistent objective statistic shortcomings that have fans wondering if he will ever turn the corner.
And that’s with most reasonable fans taking into account that he doesn’t have great protection, good coaching, or a lot of talent to work with. (Thanks, rebuild!)

PAMan has been doing it since the first month of last season.

With zero pushback from anyone but moi. Most of the board seems ready to move on. It’s just too soon, especially with games left to play and no realistic alternative.

As far as the rebuild, I really think we’re starting to see them turn the corner. Should have beaten Denver. Waxed Washington on the road. Probably should have beaten Minnesota. Easily took care of Vegas. None of those are “good” teams, but you can only play the teams on your schedule, and they look to be learning to play together and win games that at least they should.
The “rebuild” is maybe 40% complete IMO. Less if they are actually going to switch quarterbacks. Personally I think you stick with Justin if he’s good more of than not the rest of this year. At a minimum I think you bring him back and have him compete with either a high pick or a veteran capable of winning the job.

they play their boring game once a week wtf man

The Bears won and looked competent in so doing, so what is the problem? There was no suck ass QB fucking everything up last week to bitch about. Only the Fields Cult members, such as yourself, are complaining.

I didn’t say anything about “complaining.”
