Yeah, total bullshit! If he was from Duke, NC, or Kansas, he would’ve been granted another year.

Illinois never wins waivers. Why is that?

Because we gave a guy from California or whereever some gloves when he came for a January visit 40 years ago. And we gave the guy who came for a visit the same weekend a slice of Papa Dels.

That was all a long time ago, tho right?

I just feel like Illinois might be making mistakes when they're applying for these. They just always get denied.

Given what we saw with The Investigation and subsequent lawsuit, it does not appear the Illinois AD office hires The Best and The Brightest lawyers.

The waiver was a long shot.

Domask had one helluva year.

The waiver was a long shot.

Sure, maybe it was. But the Mark Smith waiver was a massive long shot, and it derived from Brad making him run on a treadmill and not visiting him in the hospital. He was eligible to play right away at Miznoz for no good reason.

Why can't we get a longshot to come through like ever? Fuck the NCAA. It's completely arbitrary how they do shit, and it will never change. Until they dissolve.

If you try to justify their actions, you're part of the problem.

It’s just Spark’s way of acting righteous. He’s above all of us…

Mark Smith got his in no small part because our staff advocated for him to get it.  it was also not a waiver for an extra year of eligibility.

There are LOTS of times to criticize the NCAA, without doubt.  We've been screwed by the waiver process before - Starks (I think it was him?) and Luke Ford on the football team.  This just isn't one of those times.  This was never likely to happen.

Very fitting you can’t see it. You literally talk down to us all the time. It’s kinda sickening…

I literally said "the waiver was always a long shot" - which is true.  It had nothing to do with you whatsoever.

Is it possible this is not a me problem, but instead a you problem?

Meanwhile Hunter Dickinson allegedly gets a 7th year.

We need better lawyers.

You read a joke tweet.

Hunter is getting his fifth COVID year, just like everyone else in the 2020 HS class gets if they want it.  No waiver required.

Cam Spencer was denied as well.  Both he and Domask had the same appeals.

Given how this year went, I'd say that seems like a pretty stretchy claim.  :)

Tell ya what, if you can't root for this kid after this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXuiSh51gcM

He seems like a true ILLINI, great ambassador for the program, I hated all his whining/arms flailing, complaining, but damn the kid is loyal and legit!
