It’s certainly possible that I’m wrong, but I’m fairly confident that Flus and Getsy haven’t said to Justin, “Hey, just rip it and we’ll live with it.” I’m reasonably confident they’ve coached some of the aggression out of his passing.
Not many coaches want to absorb the bumps and bruises that go with aggressively trying to turn around a franchise. I’ll bet if Daboll or Mike McDaniel were here we’d see a more aggressive passing game. We’ve got a Lovie Smith/Rod Marinelli disciple running the show here. He wants close:competitive games they can maybe pull out in the last 3 minutes. I’m not saying that’s necessarily a bad thing some coaches have had success with that, but I’m not sure it’s the best marriage with Justin Fields.
