I’ve noticed that buying food and daily use type items online vs locally isn’t often a winning proposition.
When ordering online many times these items are already on display for sale in a brick and mortar store. Someone has to field the order, physically pull the item, scan it, pack it up, and put it out for pickup. That’s expensive.
The aggregators also generally use a dynamic pricing algorithm. If an item is selling like hot cakes at low margin the price automatically inches up. Sometimes when supply is low the dynamic price ends up getting insane.
I keep an eye on some online aggregate retailers of meat and liquor. It’s not hard to find prices that make zero sense whatsoever.
