Really? The Marxian analysis from some UK egghead professor resonates with you, huh? The claim that the goal, under the guise of responding to the virus, was meant to prevent or defer hyperinflation? Haven't you argued here that the response to the pandemic caused inflation? (Not saying you are incorrect, just that you made the argument.) Why would Big Oil push a plan where they would wind up having to pay to give oil away? (And have Trump, who apparently was in on this plan, tell the Saudis to stop pumping so domestic producers would not completely get curb stomped?) Granted, it is now making up for those lost profits. The lower wages part? Huh?
And Lori Lightfoot and her mandates are apparently part of a global scheme for profit making by [insert your bogeyman here]. Interesting.
Chump edits: Man, I need to wear my glasses when posting on my phone.
I feel like the author addressed a lot of these issues within the actual article and there are some really well thought out replies to it that cover the rest.
Yeah, pumping the rescue money into the economy on top of the purposeful supply (and supply chain) destruction helped cause the inflation we are seeing, but it’s certainly not hyperinflation at this point.
Central banking and big companies run this world. Most politicians are puppets of the establishment installed to serve their masters. Even the ones that rise to office by claiming to eschew the establishment eventually end up doing their bidding if they want to stay in office. Or worse, they get offed. (Ahem, Kennedy) Politics and the media dog and pony show that covers them exist primarily to give us the illusion of choice.
Is this a cynical take? Sure. But I’m not even sure how anyone can argue otherwise at this juncture. Hell, George Carlin, a progressive standup comedian, laid this all brutally bare three decades ago. It’s my opinion that the only ones who don’t get it at this point are either not paying attention or have their heads buried in the sand.
If there’s one thing that boggles my mind about the US post-March 2020 is that somehow the normally anti-establishment left has become firmly entrenched on the side of the establishment. We’ve got Democrats leading the charge on huge taxpayer payouts to the military industrial complex, hero worship of big pharmaceutical companies with abhorrent morality issues, our intrepid renewable energy stumping president begging Saudi Arabia (they of their fantastic human rights track record) for oil, all while kneeling at the altar of the Big Tech and media oligarchies.
So whether or not everything in the article is true, it’s abundantly clear that the moves the global elite are making are working.
