An individual committed a brutal crime. A suspect has been arrested. The MAGA crowd is trying to cynically exploit the suspect's identity for partisan political purposes.

Republicans used to believe in individual responsibility and rejected identity politics.

Police violence and murders by illegal aliens actually have a lot in common. Both are fairly rare and both receive disproportionate coverage.

The civil unrest following the murder of George Floyd was in response to 12 major highly publicized incidents over 7 years from 2014 - 2020. From 2017 - 2020, the police shot and killed almost 4000 total, roughly 1000 per year.

Illegal immigrants don't keep killing innocent Americans. The numbers are an average of 23 per year from 2017 - 2023. You are far more likely to be shot and killed by a cop.
