More of the same flowers left at Weiss’ grave.

"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

Quite a bit more to share, but I think I’ll wait until tomorrow.

Forgot to add, IIRC Giancana was believed to be the lead mob figure involved in the plot to assassinate Fidel Castro. Lots of juicy juicy conspiracy theories involving Momo. Out of all the conspiracy theories, I think the one that the mob killed JFK may hold the most water.

Also forgot to mention that Phil, the elderly man said his brother was pretty much in with a bunch of these guys back in the day. I didn’t ask for specifics, but sounds like his brother may have been an associate with the Outfit.

I could definitely see myself going back just to hang out more with Phil to hear more stories. Lol

Also forgot to mention that some believe that the CIA killed Giancana. Seems like almost no one with connections believes this, though. Also, with Giancana being constantly under FBI surveillance, it had to be someone who knew how to get in and out of Giancana’s home undetected. No one was ever charged with his murder. This fact adds a little spice to the CIA theory, but again, almost no one who knows anything about the Outfit thinks it was the CIA. In fact, a few people claim to know who it was. Phil, the old man from Queen of Heaven told me he knew who it was but didn’t want to say lol

I told Phil I had read that it may have been Spilotro (Tony) that killed Giancana, but he said it wasn’t him.

I’ve heard the same. Been by there a good handful of times. On S. Wenonah. 1137 IIRC

The Genna Crime Family. Led by “Bloody Angelo.”

The were Sicilian brothers who ran a bootlegging operation out of Little Italy and were allied with southsiders Torrio and Capone. North side mob boss Dean O’Banion lobbied Torrio to keep the Genna’s from operating on his turf. Torrio/Capone did nothing, and it led to the killing of O’Banion and a bloody war between north and south side.

Angelo and two of his brothers were all killed within months, separately. Three other brothers fled for Italy, but returned. Best I could tell, all 6 brothers were buried in this mausoleum. It didn’t look as if any of them lived a very long life. Pretty sure this was one of the graves that had the fresh(ish) flowers I was talking about. Yes, I can see the flower on the front step.

A little more detail on “The Terrible Gennas” from wiki:

The Genna brothers consisted of six Sicilian brothers: "Bloody" Angelo, Antonio "The Gentleman", Mike "The Devil", Peter, Sam, and Vincenzo aka "Jim".[2][better source needed] In 1919, the Gennas became involved in bootlegging; they obtained a federal licence to legally manufacture industrial alcohol, which they sold illegally.[2] The Genna brothers operated from Chicago's Little Italy, which was located west of the Chicago Loop.[2]

The Genna brothers began selling their extra alcohol at cut-rate prices outside their territory.[2] This produced a clash with the North Side Gang leader Dean O'Banion, who went to John "Johnny The Fox" Torrio and Unione Siciliana boss Mike Merlo to get the Gennas to back down.[2] Torrio refused and O'Banion and his gang began hijacking shipments of whiskey that belonged to the Genna brothers.[2] Torrio then ordered his men to murder O'Banion; they carried out the hit on November 10, 1924. Frankie Yale along with two formerly-Genna aligned gunmen—John Scalise and Albert Anselmi— entered O'Banion's flower shop and shot him multiple times. It is believed that Antonio "Tony the Scourge" Lombardo and the Unione Siciliano planned the assassination after the attack on the Gennas' bootlegging operation after O'Banion heard rumours that the "guinea dagos" were muscling in on O'Banion's joints.

After O'Banion's murder, Chicago erupted into gang war.[2] The North Side Gang, led by George "Bugs" Moran, shot and wounded Torrio outside his home.[2] Torrio fled to Italy, leaving Al Capone as boss. The North Side Gang took aim at the Genna brothers and on May 27, 1925, Moran chased down Angelo Genna in a high-speed car chase, then shot him to death.[2] On June 13, 1925, Mike Genna was gunned down by police after a shootout with the North Siders.[2] Antonio Genna was shot to death on July 8, 1925, in an ambush. The remaining three brothers Jim, Sam, and Pete fled Chicago.[2]

Inside the Genna mausoleum. There were flowers, a broom, and a watering bucket with tons of dust on it.
