Hawkins doing nothing.
Shannon did nothing although he was +31

Podz's athletic numbers are not bad. Better than I expected. He is not slow.

Shannon is exceptionally quick and fast.

Shannon 6 points.
Hawkins (1-4) 3-3-5 with 0 turnovers

Podz looking like maybe a late 1st.  I think he stays in although if he came back he could moved up to where Grady Dick is

I don’t know what the staff was thinking on Podz. They had to see something in practice, right?! Like he has the confidence and swag of an NBA player. Very Tyler Herro ish. Yeah it was at a mid-major school, but it’s obvious he can do that against bigger competition. I don’t think he was allowed the freedom to play the way he wanted and was confined at Illinois. I really believe that.

Hard to say. Underwood had a hard on for Goode and TJ. The story was question if Podz could guard yet.
His shot form looked good in limited time.

It was a fuck up to let him go. You can always use guys who can shoot and he was obviously a big scorer in HS.

He definitely showed flashes when he got on the floor his freshman year. I was disappointed when he left, but figured Clark and Epps were an upgrade. Whoops.

Podz is light years better than Goode and every other guard on our team besides maybe TSJ. That’s even debatable too as you see at the combine. To play some of the players Underwood did in front of him is flabbergasting.

It was really a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation. DMW had a solid junior year, shot lights out from 3, and guarded hard. 😬 He was not the same guy his senior year on the offensive end of the floor. So more of his minutes could have gone to Podz down the stretch when it was clear he was in a rut, but most coaches are going to go with the more experienced guy that isn’t a liability on D. And that’s where additional minutes for Podz would have come from, not Goode or RJM as some keep suggesting.

When you have a coach whose mantra is “get old stay old”— they are going to value experience over talent

There was no reason Damonte Williams was playing 28 mpg and Podz 5 mpg here.
