Maybe just maybe, the simple truth is the ILLINI need a PG who is above avg...(RayJ), the above avg player was a 3 star in HS and not offered by ANY P-5 school at the time. That same player got a taste of the northwest climate at Boise St. came back to the Midwest, and has determined he likes it more out west, and has a connection already at a school with the locale and the need for him? No slight to ILLINI for not offering first time, just preference and comfort levels?

Either way, look for the staff to get Grad PG with commitment soon, so that both TSJ and Hawk announce they will be running it back one more time with us.

Not playing for Underwood is a great decision.  He’s a terrible coach. As you can see by all the guys that have gotten sick of playing for him

Utah plays in the Pac-12.  He'll see plenty of competition there, if that's where he ends up.

I used the exact examples you provided intentionally.  I didn't come up with those schools as a comparison, you did.

Switch it to UNC if it makes you feel better.

The point is that somebody's parent having, maybe, a cursory interest in a college basketball program because it's a few hours away from them does not mean them choosing to go somewhere else is some really bad look.  It's got nothing to do with Northwestern or even Illinois specifically.

If you're stuck on "you think Illinois and Northwestern are comparable!" you completely misunderstood, which obviously isn't that surprising.
