Aguirre is a badass film.

Thanks for the tip!  Just finished watching on Pluto TV.  Badass indeed!  Throughout, I was recalling the book, "River of Doubt", about Teddy Roosevelt almost dying on an uncharted journey on an Amazon tributary 350 years later.  There were a lot of the same speed bumps involved.

Right at the end, I sensed some  DJT/Ivanka foreshadowing.  Creepy....
I had a friend speak favorably about that book and make the exact same comparison.

Aguirre is a badass film.

That was a strange film.  Glad I saw it, though.  Thx
Herzog's a trip, and probably the most beloved filmmaker among dorks. If you want to see more weird-interesting, check out his documentary Grizzly Man. And I'm a fan of the Bad Lt.: Port of Call w/ Nic Cage, but it's an acquired taste.

If you want to really trip balls and kill 90 minutes, take your favorite illicit substance and check out Even Dwarfs Started Small.

I've seen Grizzly Man and Into the Abyss.  Enjoyed them both, but I like documentaries.  Think I've also seen Rescue Dawn.

A Bridge Too Far;  Hadn't seen this one before.  Unbelievable All Star cast.  Wonder why it's not talked about in history books?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Bridge_Too_Far_(film)

“ Roger Ebert gave the film two out of four and called it "such an exercise in wretched excess, such a mindless series of routine scenes, such a boringly violent indulgence in all the blood and guts and moans they could find, that by the end we're prepared to speculate that maybe Levine went two or even three bridges too far. The movie's big and expensive and filled with stars, but it's not an epic. It's the longest B-grade war movie ever made."[27] Gene Siskel gave the film two-and-a-half out of four and wrote, "More often than not, A Bridge Too Far isn't a story; it's a parade of famous faces. As for the battle footage, it is more often tedious than glamorous. The paratroop landing provides a spectacular five minutes. Other action footage is routine."[28] Vincent Canby of The New York Times stated, "The movie is massive, shapeless, often unexpectedly moving, confusing, sad, vivid and very, very long."[29] John Pym of The Monthly Film Bulletin wrote that "by the end of this extravagant film, we have a fair idea of the who-did-what logistics of a costly military operation. The root problem with A Bridge Too Far, however, is that the top-heavy complement of stars never allows for any focus of attention."

Watched it today.  Ebert was dead on.

I watched it last night. In a way, the movie paralleled the military operation. Fubar and snafu came to mind.

"A costly failure."

Worst trade ever? Or a symptom? Cubs dealt 25 year old Lou Brock to the Cardinals for veteran right handed pitcher Ernie Broglio. Due to poor fit with management and coaching style, Brock may have continued to struggle with the Cubbies?

I got a ransomeware-ish email which correctly identified one of the passwords I use for unimportant accounts (possibly even this one).

If I didn't cough up the bitcoin; he threatened to send screen caps of my porn, and webcam captures of me masturbating, to all my contacts.

I don't have a webcam.

I’ve gotten those before too but have electrical tape over any cameras. The Black Mirror episode where a very similar ransomware scenario unfolds is one of the most taut thrillers I’ve ever seen.
