I might eventually get motivated to comment on all these but the loss to 12th seeded WKU was the safest bracket pick of all time.

True. My expectations for that team were so low that one never would have crossed my mind.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

I'm convinced NEOhio and NOVA were plants. Just belligerent idiots to people trying to enjoy a thing.

Other than AZ 05 at a packed bar the memories after that are a lot of "well this sucks" sitting on my or someone else's house watching us lose to a less talented team and/or coaching the game away. This would describe the Bill Walton Game, the Brandon Roy game, the Seth Greenberg game, the we lost to a fucking 12 seed? game, the Sister Jean game and the shit since.

Beating Kansas before losing to Arizona, and the Louisville/Syracuse games in 89 were satisfying, the National Semifinal in '05

Not a lot there. Still would be an order of magnitude worse to be a Purdue fan.

Yep. We overachieved in conference and it was an instant upset pick. Still a kick in the nuts.

Yup. Also we were heavily favored but beating UWMilw on the Pearl redemption tour was cathartic.

1989 F;ying ILLINI, every moment.

2005 Tourney Team, actually playing ILLINI defense the last few minutes to beat AZ. If they had played that the entire game, AZ would have been thoroughly beaten.

2005 Loss to UNC, still stings, shot like 40 3's that game and they still almost didn't beat us with the cheater class, class.

The Kaufman/Anderson shots. Beat Iowa/Indiana both rivals (not tourney but still).

But the singular moment that sucked me in for life was when I was 12, and Bird/Magic went at it in 79. That game shaped my interest and the rest of the nations in the NCAA March Madness every year.

"We have a great bunch of outside shooters. Unfortunately, all our games are played indoors."

You mean that 38-33 barn burner at home against PSU didn't make you think we could do some damage in the tourney?
