As you are showing us here, you are the King of Layered Thought, with 50% more nuance!

So you’re happy with the outcome? Because unless you are, you’re just piling on because you can’t help yourself.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

The point is you’re drawing definite conclusions from information you don’t have. You’re going strictly by what is known by the outsider. You may, or may not be right. Jesus.

No, dude, I’m drawing conclusions from the information we DO have.

You are saying “well but what if there was a better trade out there and Poles didn’t even try?”, which is absurd.

Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns—the ones we don't know we don't know. And if one looks throughout the history of NFL drafts, it is the latter category that tends to be the difficult ones.

Also no.

I mean, yes dude.

Your whole point is "we didn't get enough for Carter!"

The point only makes sense if there was some way we could've gotten more for Carter.  If you're not assuming we could've gotten more, then your entire point is moot.

Why mention that the Bucs took a D Lineman then?  What point were you making?

The point is instead of settling maybe it’s (possible) a much better deal was there to be had. We don’t know what was discussed or how aggressive they were in trying to maximize the return. For the 14th time, it’s totally possible that Poles identified Wright as his “must have” guy. Which might be an explanation for why they settled for a meager return rather than just the lazy assumption it was “the only deal out there.”

In an absolutely perfect world in your mind Tempo, how would the Bears have played the draft last night?  Try to tell me without assuming there was some deal better than what they got for the 9th pick.

So yes, what I said was exactly correct.  The point of posting it was, maybe the Bucs offered Poles a better deal and he passed!

The notion that there were better deals out there and Poles passed on them is just crazy meathead fan stuff.

As you do not recall, obviously, I posted after the pick that I was happy with it. I will add that I was especially fine with it since it was not the NU guy who appears to be headed to being a Guard.

I’ve said all along I think we could have gotten more. But maybe Poles didn’t want to risk not getting Wright. Is that overly complicated?

On top of that, I don’t know who Poles talked to 10 days ago about “what if” scenarios. And neither do you. It may have been everyone, it may have been no one. TBH I’m betting they were surprised he fell. No one expected him to go past Detroit.

Then why did you make a post mocking me for the Bears getting “a guy who wasn’t even there! Lol”

So let's assume he didn't do his homework, and just decided to take a weak deal rather than the better deal that might have been out there for him!  That way hey, at least we have something to whine about.

Lunacy man.  You're one of those people who watches sports specifically to bitch about it, no matter what actually occurs, and that mindset will never make any sense at all to me.

Have to admire the creativity on picking Carter 9 to just trade him in a package to teams who did not want to trade up to 9 to get him.

Wait, you aren't glad Fields lost all those close games so they could pick a tackle who is not even at the draft???

This sounds like a ringing endorsement for the pick.

He was pretty clearly trolling you there.

He obviously thinks saying ridiculously stupid shit to get you riled up is the peak of comedy.

To your credit, when you say ridiculously stupid shit you really mean it and dig in.

Again fuckstick. You’re drawing conclusions on limited information. You might be right. You might be wrong. If Poles decided he had to have Wright, you are probably wrong. JFC. This isn’t hard.
