Your first link is from September, before the season started. I know you have trouble figuring out when the season starts, based on your Depth/Goode confusion earlier.

Straight from your second link:

As of now, Black is tied for the most totals turnovers in the SEC (3.2 topg)

None of that changes the fact he reportedly has passing skills. A player does not magically lose passing skills. The turnovers might be due to adjusting to college ball, or other factors.

I 100% stand by the comment. He supposedly is a good passer despite the turnovers.

I stand by what I wrote here as well. So just stop spinning and lying.

Except he tried to implement it in the first place, again, as the "team defense."

As for IVMP, give 'em hell, Nichi!

I am ignoring the resident creep. I just saw some of Sparky's replies and had to comment.

What I recall this year is they started out switching, not pressuring and trapping. But I am old and the years blend together /s

This year's team actually started out with the depth to press a lot more. Then Goode broke his foot,  Melendez hurt his shoulder, and Clark left the team.

Next year's team might have the talent and depth to extend the defense more, depending on who returns and who else they add.

I'd rather see multiple team defenses. That is really what we saw this year. Switching, under the ball screen, drop coverage, pressure. Just no zone.

Thanks. I am actually trying to preview Arkansas's players. I was not expecting to get in a spitting contest over whether a guy  averaging 4 assists and 3 turnovers can possibly be a good passer.

Every scouting report I read mentioned his good passing skills. The more current ones referenced the turnover issue, but we're not overly concerned.

So we are facing a big guard guard with a good handle who likes to back defenders down. He can pass the ball but might be a bit turnover prone for some unknown reason.

He shoots almost 53% from 2, but only 31% from 3.

And we didn't handle Jalen Pickett's backing down.

I looked up the numbers. His assist-to-TO ratio is just above 1.3. Not even close to the Top 50 in the nation.

Shall we spend the next week arguing the meanings of supposedly and despite, IVMP the Lunatic?

If we do not see a zone against this Arkansas team, then BU really should reevaluate the game prep....who gets the call on scouting this matchup?

Arkansas ONLY makes 20.5% pts from 3...358th nationally...they are athletic enough to beat us with switching etc...they are not good enough to beat us if made to stay on perimeter...

Anthony Black is one of the 5 star freshmen, a big 6-7 guard. Averages about 13 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 3 TO. Shoots better from 2 than 3. Reportedly likes to back smaller guards down. Supposedly a good passer despite the TOs. A candidate to have a big game?

Davonte Davis would be the one I am worried about, 6'-4" athletic wing guard, been in big games before and performed well. Just the type of player that could kill us for 20+.

If Illinois shoots more than 20 threes, we probably lose. If we shoot less than 20, I believe we will win. I think we average 24 attempts a game 🙁.

I was going to review Davis next, but the conversation got sidetracked over the words "Supposedly [Black is] a good passer despite the TOs."

I haven't read up much on Davis. Iirc, he averages a little over 10 ppg, and shoots ok from 3 (about 34%).

Shall we spend the next week arguing the meanings of supposedly and despite, IVMP the Lunatic?

You posted that someone with a 1.3 assist-to-TO ratio was a good passer. The argument pretty much ends there. I know your game is to add all kinds of qualifiers, to spin, to lie, to edit posts after the fact, etc.

Also, during the Pitt-Miss. St. game, MSU was having trouble with Pitt's screen and rolls. Avery Johnson commented that MSU was having trouble executing its switching defense. Of course, Nichi told us that a switching defense doesn't require any additional effort.

Count Avery Johnson among the many who have more of a clue than Nichi.
I am a former 5-star general. Or maybe it was 4-star.
Nichi claims a guard with a 1.3 assist-to-TO ratio is a good passer.

I’m really getting tired of the back and forth with IVMP and IR and the mults. I can’t imagine I’m alone in that. As far as I’m concerned you all can suck Jobu’s cock.

The mults are the most offensive to me. No creativity behind them at all.
